Picasso painted some freaky pictures of women,too...and so did Van Gogh.

Goes with the territory, I guess.

So did Siefert (gosh, hope I got the name right!) who Patricia Cornwell wrote about as her best guess for "Jack the Ripper"

Yes, I just read that. Our friend KAYTOM has been pointing those out! I think it's a good observation. Another wierd thing about this case...I'll find it and repost...

You're a peach TCC ;} And thanks again to you KAYTOM, It could be a reason LE connected the Manorville and Gilgo Beach murders to one killer. I wonder what made that change for LE, realizing how SK's change their ways. IMO

"Debunking" suspects & theories

The organized crime hits/slave ring theory - I understand why some might entertain this thought, but I think if you look at the specific stats of the victims: White, young, small statured, drug addicted, mostly not from the immediate area, used craigslist, etc. you would agree that someone is targeting a specific type of victim. If the victims were wacked/killed for business reasons the victims would have a diverse range of age, race, size etc. If it was motivated by business, it would be more or less a random sampling from the population of sex workers, and that random sample would not be all white etc.

MP as suspect - It has been documented in the media that MP returned to oak beach to look for SG after he found out that she never made it home, and then went to the SCPD presinct to file a missing persons report, I must assume the police checked the integrity of that claim because interaction with the police is documented. I don't believe he could be responsible for what happened to her since he returned to Oak Beach and went to the police to report her missing.

Theory that Manorville killer is different from the killer of the original Gilgo 4 - I still have a hard time believing the DA or anyone is this stupid, I think the claim is a ruse. I see nothing strange about a SK changing the way he operates over a decade. Also, being from LI, I think the probability of 2 SK's using ocean parkway is much more UNLIKELY than people think it is. The truth is there are Hundreds (I would even say an uncountable amount) of woodsy locations on LI suitable for disposal. It is perfectly logical to say the probability of 1 SK changing details of his kill over a decade is MUCH MUCH higher than the probability of 2 prostitute killing SK's dumping within hundreds of yards of each other on an Island that is 1,401 square miles.

The Mural Artist
To a hammer everything looks like a nail, if you sleuth every detail about anyone you will think you see "creepiness" or a potential subject. There is no reason to be concerned about a painter who likes to paint girls, etc. I agree he is the victim of 1 (emphasis on 1) unfortunate coincidence: skulls in painting.

Hi truthspider,

That was well written and I agree with you 100%

Interesting TCC, I've never heard of Siefert.

I don't think the people of OB are weird, part of a cult, nor are they protecting people. I think they are a group of homeoweners who pay hefty taxes to live near the water and want their privacy back. Who wouldn't?. Their lives have been invaded by police, press, on-lookers and SG's family becuase a OB person hired a prostitute. And while no one deserves to be murdered, I think it's unrealistic to expect an outpouring of sympathy for the victims becuase of the high risk nature. I don't think it's a case of you deserve it but more [/I]of a what do you expect attitude. Not unlike how many people feel about drug dealers who are killed. And what is it exactly they owe anyone at this point or what are they supposed to do? These homeowners, with the exception if one turns out to be the SK, did not cause this to happen.IMO

Hi crimesnooper,

I agree that they didn't cause it to happen. But come on, have you ever heard of a community that didn't support the family of the victim? Many could argue that SG is NOT a victim. I agree. She is the unknown quantity in this case. However, for her family to be treated like they were...it's odious and offensive to me. And Shannan's not even my family. Just sayin' .they don't seem to care at all. It's pretty obvious that LE will respond if the "right" person called! Ie; a resident of the sacrosinct Oak Beach homeowners group. Sheesh...

Hi KAYTOM,

Yes, I remember reading about this case. But, I believe "her aquaintances" (can't bring myself to type "friends") had robbed, killed and dumped her body.

JMO, but I don't think that one is related. Thanks for your great thoughts and sleuthing abilities!:rocker:

I think these guys have been in jail since A\ug 20, 2007. In Florida.

That is wild about Sickert too. Man 'O Man, the sicko's we study, eh? I got a great laugh too TCC, I mean just his name put together with that gruesome painting and then who she thought he could be.

Hi scandi,

MK has the right name! I can"t stop grinning at MK's post!!!

Yeah, that Walter guy is a good POI for the "Jack the Ripper" case. He was an artist, and drew many sketches that were similar to the way the bodies of JTR's vics were found. And he was in alot of the locations when the attacks occurred. But, there is also a very good suspect that came to the US and crimes similar occurred...I think he was from Germany. I could provide links (!) if you want...! Probably for another day - or we could start a thread, but I think this case needs our attention more right now. See, I fancy that all us W/S er's will break this case wide open I have more faith in this site and it's posters than I have in Suffolk PD. Sad to say...

Yea, I looked him up and saw the painting - my God, he even painted the blood spatter on the wall !

I agree it is for another day and I fancy the same thing as you about the LI case. It is a live SK case, ongoing now, and that makes it special IMO besides the desire to catch the killer/s. I am amazed every day at the quality of the sleuthing going on here in this case. xox

Long Island Killers by Jessica Capelli, Long Island Exchange, May 13, 2011 ( link, emphasis added, mine )

Reports have stated that the two women found in Manorville, one of whom was identified as twenty-year-old Jessica Taylor, led to the reopening of two other cases. The first was from 1997 and the other was a case from ten years later. Since 2007, no progress has been made or updates given to either case.
Does anyone have any idea what two "additional cases" she is referring to?

Hi sw,

I think these are the two cases. BIG props to Ms. Galluci for her excellent work.

Long Island’s Other Serial Killer
By Jaclyn Gallucci on March 24th, 2011

Girls Disappearing

The torso of a black or Hispanic woman, also with her head and hands cut off, was found by a hiker in Hempstead Lake State Park on June 28, 1997.

Nassau County Medical Examiner Eric Smith, who worked on the case, which is still active—cold cases are never closed in New York State until they are solved—says she is known among law enforcement as “Peaches” due to a tattoo of a peach above her left breast.

“Cut the fingers out, decapitate the head,” says Smith. “Those are two ways of preventing people from tracing that person.”

Her fingerprints and dental history gone, “Peaches” was wrapped in black plastic garbage bags and stuffed into a large green Rubbermaid container, along with a red towel and floral pillow sham.

On March 3, 2007, another woman’s torso, stabbed and stuffed inside a suitcase, washed ashore in Mamaroneck. One of her leg bones and her right foot with her toe nails half polished washed up from the Long Island Sound later on March 27 among the rocks in Cold Spring Harbor. On March 28, her severed leg bone washed up in a plastic bag a short distance away at the estate of Cablevision billionaire James Dolan. The rest of her has never been found.

A tattoo on a torso found in a suitcase in Mamaroneck in 2007. One leg was later found on the LI property of James Dolan. Below, A blood-soaked camisole found with the torso.
Medical examiner records show this woman was either black or Hispanic, 5’10”, 180-200 pounds and had a tattoo of two cherries above her right breast.

The only clues are what was found with the body: a black Protégé suitcase manufactured by InGear—sold exclusively at Wal-Mart—a red, blood-soaked camisole with a Spanish brand label, lavender Champion sweatpants, a blue bra and a tan long-sleeved t-shirt, manufactured by Voice, and ripped up scraps of paper, possibly a page from a calendar, reading “cinco” and “begin to live.”

Police remain tight-lipped on these cases, partly because of a lack of information and partly, especially in the recent cases of the Gilgo Beach victims found in December 2010, to not compromise the investigation. How Megan Waterman, 22, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, Melissa Barthelemy, 24, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, were killed—and the condition of their bodies when they were found—has not been made public, only the fact that they had each advertised their sexual services on Craigslist and other websites. And another missing prostitute, Shannan Gilbert, 24, whom police were originally looking for when they found these four women, still has yet to be found.

Using the LE Map provided here on WS, I noticed that something is strange with the numbering with the GB4.
They have MB as #1, ALC as #2, MBB as #3, and MW as#4.
Why is that? Am I missing something?
According to the dates the GB4 girls went missing we have, MBB as#1(9 July 07), MB as #2(12July 09), MW as#3(6 June 10), and ALC as #4(2 Sept. 10).
Ideas?

JMO, but it stood out again -"peaches" and "cherries" may be a clue.

Hi scandi,

OMG, you must view the sketch that resembles Mary Kelly's death scene. But it is for another day. I'm not kidding myself that we can actually solves this, but maybe we can help. Who knows.

Yes, about our fellow sleuthers...pretty amazing group we have here. I've learned SOOOOOO much. Thanks to all!
