I agree. No amber alert was issued because they pretty much knew who did it and that Marc was most likely no longer with us. IMO

Now, I hope they find him alive, but I doubt it.

I hope he is found soon.

Nancy Grace had a show on this 4 yr old boy that disappeared while being babysat by mom's boyfriend. I think it was out of NY. The show was about a week ago. Boyfriend has a shady history and was previously convicted of child abuse against his own son. What was this boys name and is there an update on this case?

Marc Bookal of Brooklyn NY. The mom's bf is in custody, but little Marc has not been found yet. Sad thing is, the bf served time for abusing his own 1 yr old son with Marc's mom. There is a thread for Marc.

Now, between city and state police divers, Broe anticipated between six and 10 divers in the river over the weekend. Because of the cold temperatures, individual officers won’t be able to stay in the water for long, so there will be a lot of rotation, he said.

Bloodhounds had indicated the possibility of some clues along the river, so that is what is bringing the divers to the river, Broe said.

At the request of the police Christina, the boy’s mother, and Yul Bookal, the boy’s biological father both took a polygraph test. Both were found to be truthful in their responses said Police Sgt. Paul Weber.


The police made a similar request of Cory Byrd through his lawyer, Erik Indzonka. However, according to his lawyer, Byrd has refused to participate.


In the meantime two anonymous donors have stepped up and offered a reward for information leading to the safe return of 4-year-old Marc Bookal. One donor offered $10,000 while the second one offered $5,000.
One other donor, the Carlie’s Crusade Foundation has also added $1,000 to the reward increasing the amount offered to $16,000. However, echoing what has been unsaid so far, the money is offered for the safe return of 4-year-old Marc Bookal or the recovery of his remains.


Anyone who wishes to contribute to the Carlie’s Crusade reward may contact www.CarliesCrusade.org or at (800)496-6720 or 309-2961. Donations are in addition to the organization’s contribution and tax deductible, officials said. To report any information about Bookal’s whereabouts, call City of Newburgh police at 561-3131.

this monster beat 11 years ago??

I am sure the delusional mother passed a poly...she is not lying, just delusional

where is the boy who was beaten so badly 11 years ago?? Who has custody of him?? and what is being done about the fact this creep was in a home with kids??? Parole board.....social services...who messed up this time??

My thoughts and prayers are with poor little Marc

That child still lives there, I think. Based on an article that tells the ages of the kids at home (3 still alive... 2 brothers, 1 sister... ages 5, 11, 12)

This new article from today completely fries my azz. Mom complains the cops aren't doing enough. Oh really? Look at the pics of the divers in frigid water while she sits in her warm kitchen and people bring food.

Maybe she should go visit her boyfriend in jail try to get something from him. She obviously wasn't putting her little boy first when she allowed this to watch him.

You know, she'd be lucky if they keep searching after the criticism, I mean I'm sure it's awfully cold and if Marc is in the river...

I'm thinking maybe this is her way of protecting Cory. After all, she knows the man is violent towards adults and children. He doesn't seem to care if the person is helpless as a criteria for beating them. So... if they don't find Marc, then Cory doesn't spend life in prison???

I hope I am just being bitter, but we have seen a lot of bad mothers.
