New York State Park Police said they are searching for a 47-year-old woman, but did not give her name.

The search began late Sunday night after her vehicle was found parked with no one inside.

The woman is known to go out for walks frequently. ...

Based on a note investigators found at the individual's residence, police say she may have been despondent when she came to the park. They say this remains a missing person's case and they hope for a positive outcome.

UPDATE (6:30 p.m.) Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are asking members of the public to be on the lookout for a missing, vulnerable adult.

Law enforcement spent much of the day Monday searching Hamlin Beach State Park for Margaret DeGraff, 47.

DeGraff, of Sweden, was last seen on March 6 at Villa of Hope, where she works. Her vehicle was found at the park on Sunday.

Body found at Hamlin Beach State Park; search for missing woman called off

"Around 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office recovered a body on the Lake Ontario shoreline that has not yet been positively identified, according to a MCSO news release. Foul play is not suspected, the sheriff's office said. Pending the Monroe County Medical Examiner's autopsy, the search for 47-year-old Margaret DeGraff, of Sweden, has been called off."
