Details of Disappearance​

Lorenzana was last seen at his residence in the 30 block of College Drive in Stony Brook, New York on January 26, 2002. He left on foot and never returned. He never reported to work after his disappearance and has not been heard from again.

At the time of his disappearance, Lorenzana was depressed over a breakup with his girlfriend. The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear and his case remains unsolved.

Where could this young man have gone? He left on foot, but I assume he used public transportation sometimes? What a heartbreaking case.

There is nothing out there, I couldn't find any media for Markus. Literally nothing out there except the MP websites. I couldn't find him listed in the NY Missing Persons Clearinghouse. Namus has this information
Circumstances of Disappearance Unknown. Markus was last seen at his residence in the vicinity of the 30 block of College Dr. Individual left house on foot. Depressed over breakup with girlfriend. Did not return home and did not report to work.

Sometimes I wonder if families connected with missing persons, know or feel they know what happened to them. For instance if they were known to be suicidal and after a few years believe that is what someone did then maybe that is the reason they do keep trying to push police or get media attention. Idk I just find it sad when there is nothing out there and nobody trying to find them. I'm not saying that I believe Markus committed suicide, I just don't understand when not much is being done is anything at all.

Markus is still missing and I hope one day he will be found. If anyone has any information, please share.

I'm not saying that I believe Markus committed suicide, I just don't understand when not much is being done is anything at all.

His family would have desperately wanted to find him, but with no clues on where to start looking, what do you do? Someone made sure he was in the national database (many missing people aren't).

I think he must have been very depressed for it to be mentioned. It is a difficult stage of life and extremely sad. In my opinion, he may have gone somewhere rural or to a waterway, since he hasn't been found and because that is unfortunately not a rare occurrence.
