The girl who was with us, when we encountered Chuck Phillips at Havilands Cove, was one of the Lamb sisters.
Several months ago I spoke with one of the Detective’s, from GFPD, who told me that they were following up on several new leads, that were uncovered by the Missing and Exploited Children detectives. He told me he would get back with me soon. I’m not holding my breath, as, it always seems to be the same thing…”kick the can down the road”, and I am really disappointed in these guys. No INTEGRITY.

Sorry for your lost sister. I wonder if there was any update on the lead in MA. She and you are in my thoughts tonight.

I’m currently waiting for my profile report from 23&me, to see if there is any people related to me that I don’t know about. Very anxious to get this information.

Circumstances of Disappearance​

Mary Anne Wesolowski was last seen at Haviland Cove at about 3:00 p.m., walking to a sandwich shop to get something to eat while visiting a beach with relatives. She never made it to the shop and hasn't been seen since.

There are reports from the family that Mary Anne left a note to her mother stating, "I'm leaving, I might miss you". Another note written to her sister but never mailed stated she hated Glen Falls and couldn't wait for summer to start.

Kenneth Yarter was questioned by police in 1995 regarding Mary Anne's disappearance because he lived in the area and worked at a restaurant near where Mary Anne was last seen. Yarter is serving a life sentence for the kidnap and rape of two Florida women, and the murder of a 16-year-old in Argyle

Hey WS sleuths. This MP, Mary Ann Wesolowski sent a note to mom: "I'm leaving. I might miss you" as per CharleyProject's post on this MP. What I think happened::

1. She was a runaway, based on the note at Charley Project. The mixed emotions toward the mother speak to an unhappy home life.
2. She survived the disappearance event. At 13, that is tough but doable—runaways hitchhiked, and not all people who pick up hitchhikers are evil. Maybe she blended into urban Polish communities in New York state.
3. She fudged her birthdate by a couple of years to appear older and gain access to work, services meant for older people, or to become an adult faster. Born in 1958 but claiming 1956, for example, helps her live as a runaway better. Lots of runaways lie about their ages to get by and evade child services.
4. She had two children named Jennifer and Billy. Jennifer (b. July 1976, 2), Billy (b. 1975, ~3). She'd be a young mother for sure by her true age. Father(s) out of the picture—both kids took Maryann's maiden name (no hyphen/paternal surname in reports or memorials), suggesting unmarried/single mom setup.
5. All three (Maryann/Billy/Jenny) died in a house fire or in the hospital in 1978 in Poughkeepsie. Nov 20-21, 1978: Tragic blaze killed "Mary Ann/Maryann Wesolowski" (reportedly aged 21-22) and toddlers. Bodies transferred west to Cheektowaga's Saint Adalberts Cemetery (Erie County, Buffalo suburb) for burial. Sloppy journalism (name spellings: Wesoloswki/Wesolowski; ages 21 vs. 22) matches her fudged ID, sticking on records maybe or just lazy reporting.
6. Thus, I think this is Maryann's Find a Grave despite the birth year being off. Memorials: Maryann Wesolowski (b. 1956–1978, ID 225532554), Billy Wesolowski (1975–1978, ID 225518999), Jenny Wesolowski (1976–1978, ID 225518998).

How can you help? Prove me wrong.

Using the Findagrave, find a Maryann Wesolowski with an authentic birth certificate created in 1956 or a birth notice in the 1956 newspapers. I've not found that, but don't have infinite time to look.

Until then, I think Maryann Wesolowski simply ran away, lied about her age, and somehow managed to get that new age into the system in the predigital era. Then she died in a house fire with two children (check Newspapers.com).

Anyone on board with this, feel free to look for corroboration.

How? The father(s) of her children, recognizing her from the NamUs photo, would be a heck of a flag.

Or if anyone who attended the funeral (funeral homes sometimes have old logs) that is still alive might see a resemblance.
