Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 36-year-old Setauket woman who has gone missing.

A relative of May Garwin reported her missing to police on Saturday, May 26, saying she hadn’t seen Garwin since April 4 at Garwin’s home.

She lives on Hansom Lane in Setauket, and is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She has no previously reported mental or physical health issues.

Garwin’s vehicle was impounded by the New York Police Department on May 6 after it was parked illegally on Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Garwin’s location to call 911 or the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

I wonder if May lived alone? She was last seen on April 4, 2019, yet not reported as missing until May 26, 2019.

Her car was found about 60 miles from her home.

According to published work, a person with her name works/worked at the Stony Brook Universy Hospital in the radiology department. The hospital is about 5 miles from her home. The same person got their master's degree related to radiology in 2009 from a university in Egypt. Alternative/full names: May E Garwin and Mai Elsayed Elsayed Garwin.

I know this is an older thread but I just stumbled on a NamUs case of an unidentified female found unresponsive on the subway at the Utica Ave Station (about a 15-minute drive from where her car was discovered in 2019, according to @doodles1211 original post). The "Circumstances of Recovery" section says "Tentative names include May Elsayed Elsayed Garwin and Yekaterina Golub, but these names have not been verified and family has not been notified." I found another article from 2019 when May Garwin was reported missing that included a photo. Could this be a match?

Yes! I just checked, and she has been positively identified as May Garwin and has been updated to be an unclaimed person. I wonder how she stayed missing for so long. I hope she can rest in peace now.
