I kind of assumed based on the names that they meant Italian but picked the wrong thing out of a dropdown or got gotten by autocorrect. MOO
Makes much more sense. I bet you're right.

WSers are so smart (excluding myself at the moment, lol).

This idiot using the "white van" cliche shows that he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I'm sure he made countless mistakes.

Her body was located in a wooded area, but the cause of death remains unknown. Police say no abduction occurred and there’s no public threat.

Very sad outcome, the writing appears to be on the wall so to speak. I will sit and wait like everyone else. Has there been any word on her mother? TIA

Odd how it says "no announcement of an arrest" doesn't mean there isn't one IMO. I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow

The body of a 9-year-old girl from Canada who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been found in Ticonderoga, New York, and authorities say there is no indication that an abduction occurred.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office initially led the investigation. “As the case progressed, law enforcement identified inconsistencies in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided,” New York State Police said. A press briefing is scheduled for Monday.

"Due to jurisdictional considerations, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has turned the investigation over to the New York State Police," the agency said in a statement. "At this time, there is no indication that an abduction occurred, and there is no threat to the public."

At 4:18 p.m., state police announced that the WCSO had canceled the Amber Alert for Melina. Both the father and daughter are Canadian residents, per state police

The investigation is ongoing. A media event is anticipated on July 21, 2025.

In his initial report, Frattolin told police his daughter was last seen around 9:40 p.m. near the Lake George Village area. Law enforcement has not said whether Luciano Frattolin faces any charges at this time.

Luciano Frattolin (pictured), 45, told police he thought his daughter had been kidnapped, but they identified 'inconsistencies' in his story and she was later found dead

Frattolin is the founder of an organic coffee brand called Gambella, according to the product's website. Luciano Frattolin is an experienced entrepreneur with a proven track record of building diverse, high-performance businesses,' the website reads.

'With a background in the humanities and social sciences, his formal education, together with his pragmatic understanding about the complexities of life, motivates him to maintain an understanding of the world grounded in a distinct cross-cultural ethos.

'The son of an Ethiopian mother and an Italian father, Luciano was born in the small, remote village of Gambella. 'With a childhood spent running between rows of crimson coffee buds on the Ethiopian family plantation, and the neoclassical architecture of his father’s Milano, his vision of the world and his pursuits within, reflect these hyphenated cultures.'

Luciano Frattolin appears to be the founder of Gambella Coffee, where he describes Melina as his "beautiful daughter" and the "inspiration for... well, everything."

I'm thinking he will be from somewhere closer across the border. She was described as "Indian." I wasn't sure what they meant, but now I'm thinking maybe they meant indigenous/First Nation?? idk

jmo
Thank you-I was wondering the same about the description of the child as “indian”.

I'm thinking she was "gone" before she was reported as abducted (when she wasn't actually abducted).

I agree with this assessment; I was thinking the very same thing.

My goodness. She is the spitting image of her father. What a sad but not surprising outcome. Rest in Peace sweet girl.
