Odd since that "HELL DEATH" tat should be an automatic rule out
Maybe it was done by hand and didn't last? I'm just guessing.

Was wondering that myself. My dad's stick and poke tats lasted, my coworker's didn't. I just emailed DiMase to ask more.

That's the name I heard also.

Interesting, for sure!

Thanks, Alley!

I got a hold of DiMase tonight and he said he's been super busy (summertime in an urban area - you know how that goes!) - but that he is waiting to hear back from the NH detective as to whether or not he entered the MP's DNA in NamUs. If it's the girl I think it is, then it has not yet been entered:

I have done extensive research on Elizabeth about a month ago. I have also found picture posted by one of her brothers which is not yet on any of her missing profiles.

If you speak to him again let him know about the ink. I'm not seeing her being MVJD.
Wish they'd do isotopes

I did mention the tat to him.

With the other pic Al Ka posted, I'm not seeing Elizabeth as a match either.

I wish they'd do isotopes, too.

It would be great for them to do isotopes. I understand that there is an expense but this is the only unidentified body for Mount Vernon as far as I'm aware... It's just been so long.

I think Jessr mentioned that it has something to do with accreditation, but the cost could also be part of the reason it's not being done, too.

100%! It costs labs a lot more money to get NY accreditation.

Yeah, the lab has to be certified in forensic techniques (true also of DNA and any other test) and there are usually requirements on the testers too.

Because there aren't enough certified labs, the ones that are certified are often overloaded, and that keeps costs high.

The situation seems to be improving, though.

To have isotopes done would be great. My impression was though that main reason of not having progress is because LE still do not know where MVJD remains are? Or have there been any update on that? Was she finally located?

^They don't know where her remains are? Fill me in on this, please. Thanks!

They really do not know! I wrote a letter to the OCME's office and they said because it's a pending investigation they can't tell me. The records are in storage somewhere anyway. Then the detective in charge tried to find out and also got nowhere. It's really unbelievable.

So, it sounds like they're missing her case file and her remains? Am I reading this correctly?

As far as I am aware only her remains are in unknown location and as per Jess it should be possible to trace it on some old records in their storage. File of her case is fine.

Phew! I didn't know what to make of the case file thing. Thanks for explaining.

Her case file is safe with Det. DiMase :)
OCME will not release the location of her body to me, and apparently even gave DiMase a hassle that requires loads of paperwork (why they make this so hard on LE, I don't understand).

Some states have strict laws about that kind of thing.

I also get the impression that they're holding everything, even little details, very close to the vest.

Interesting you say that. I've felt the same - what makes you think that?

Heard back that Terrie Lynn Hefner and Elizabeth Lamotte have been ruled out.
