I wondered why they would dump someone there, beacause by 7th ave there's heavy vegetation, and the area were I currently work used to be nothing but wooded area.

That's a question I haven't been able to come up with an answer to. I walked the area over the summer and did notice the heavy vegetation on 7th going towards Fulton Lane. In fact Fulton Lane itself is more wooded and desolate than Carleton, so I'm not sure why someone would pose a body in front of several businesses that can be seen while driving down Route 22/Columbus.

It seems to me he wanted to shock people by making them see her body, posed like that. Some real brazen, sadistic killers do that.

I have been away when MVJD Isotope petition has started so I might have missed few things. (I have signed it). Does it mean that her body/grave have been located by LE or others? If not, do we know if anything was retained for isotope or any other re/testing to make it possible?

And a bit silly question, but why do we need petition if LE is so "dedicated" to the case? Is not it part of their job to request tests? How many signatures will make it good enough for Westchester County to take notice or approve it? Don't take me wrong, I think petition by public is very noble idea to do.

It is only 28 years and there have been 0 appeals by LE to public so far about her. I really wonder why. (Correction, in 1988 appeal aired on Brazilian TV channel of Mount Vernon.) And in 2013 one article (not appeal) was published by George. That/s it.

(apologies for ranting, just frustrated about the case and needed proper venting - no offense meant to anyone)

To the best of my knowledge, Det. DiMase has not yet received the information on where her body is buried. The request was sent to the Westchester County Medical Examiner, who responded that they needed to locate their 1988 files in order to determine which cemetery she is buried in.

DiMase has said that he doesn't believe isotope testing is a good idea because he thinks the funds needed to exhume will not be approved.

Jordan from the Journal News/LoHud interviewed DiMase a couple of weeks ago and he is supposed to speak with me Saturday; then he will put it together for his Crime Scene podcast. The Mt. Vernon PD did reach out to LoHud a couple of years ago, and asked them to do a new article to correct the errors in the George article - however, LoHud declined to publish anything that contradicted the 2013 article.

Jess posted this on the FB page yesterday - LE has confirmed that MVJD showed evidence of sexual activity vaginally (not oral), and that there was no bruising on her thighs or genitals, leading them to believe she was not raped.

Just waking up; have we looked on find a grave to see if she's listed?

Thanks, Roselvr, for checking. I actually never did check Find A Grave for her grave. Funny, Riverside Chapel does not have a burial ground, it is a synagogue.

It is possible! Westchester County does bury some of their unclaimed dead in New Jersey, although I don't know in which cemetery.

I have just finished reading this entire thread and went and signed the petition for isotope testing. This may be a stupid question.....If someone drinks bottled water wouldn't that skew the results for the isotope test? I know growing up as a small child the well water where we lived was not drinkable and therefore we always drank bottled water. Seems like bottled water comes from many sources and therefore could cause inaccurate results on the isotope test? Or at least make it appear as if someone frequently traveled depending on whether or not they purchased the exact same brand of water each time? Am I way off base on thinking this way?

A lot of bottled water companies are regional. It's something I've noticed during my travels and my move to TX. In So. California, there was Arrowhead (bottled there at Lake Arrowhead). Here in TX, the predominant one is Ozarka. In NY (at least on Manhattan), there's Poland Springs. You can also get water intake from food (which is why you should avoid lettuce when you travel, in addition to local water). To my knowledge, water contributes to oxygen isotopes. There are also carbon isotopes, which originate in plant-based foods. So water would only be part of the results. (Forgive me any inaccuracies in this. I only know the basics of forensic isotope analysis.)
