With regards to Boston prison inmate who's partial DNA was found under MVJD fingernails but it was dimissed as he was in prison when MVJD was murdered.

I came accross the group who investigates numerous serial murders (all around 1988 - 1995) and two still missing women in New Bedford area of Massachusetts. What cought my eye and I was not aware before, that certain instituitions in that area (prisons, hospitals for sexual deviants etc) started experimental project in mid 80s where many of those incarcerated were given furloughs. It invovled many convincts who went on rampage during those furlough days. As furloughs were too often and too many and not properly monitored, nobody really new for certain when certain prisoners were in or out. Some of the "imprisoned" inmates were later convicted for murders committed during those furloughs. After all this big shambles government shut that project down in mid 90s.

I could not stop thinking about MVJD case when reading all this. I wonder if the Boston guy who's DNA was on MVJD was in one of those institutions. Was it ever mentioned where he was incarcerated in MA?

Maybe you should let the investigators know this.

I didn't see Mary Opitz on the Rule Out List. I had tried to message a couple FB pages about her. I don't know how to attach a photo but mostly because of the mole near the right clavicle. She actually disappeared from Florida in 1981. However she was from New York, had a New York accent. I never heard back if she was submitted to NAMUS as a possible match for MVJD. https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/6466 http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/o/opitz_mary.html
There is also a 2nd person that I can't find much info on at all... I'll make a new comment for her. Thanks!

I don't see Mary Ann Hogland - Mccluskey mentioned. There isn't much info I can find other than she may have been abused/run away was placed in foster care and ran away from there. Missing from California in 1981. Her photos are very pixelated but I think the mole on the right nostril of MVJD matches. The eyebrows, face shape all match up in my opinion height, weight are same. Her eyes are listed as brown but the photos look like possibly they were a hazel brown to me? Seems like Her description states moles on neck but there are no photos. A childhood photo has a dark spot near the right clavicle that I'm thinking could be a mole? Does anyone want to look and tell me what you think? http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1247dfca.html I did a side by side but not sure how to post that here.
Thanks!

Thinking of MVJD on this beautiful day. One day I'll go to Mount Vernon myself and try and do something for her... sigh.

Detective DiMase and I were recently interviewed by Dan Bowens of Fox 5 news, for an upcoming podcast about MVJD! It should be published within next week or two. Here is the link to Dan's podcasts on Spotify:

Wow oh wow! Not only does she look like Carl's recon, their physical descriptions match! I say submit! Awesome job!

You don't need to submit, she was the 1st doe everyone thought Vicki was when I entered her in NamUs. They both have DNA.

I assumed so, there was no way she hadn't been mentioned. Just couldn't find any record of her being talked about. I don't call anything in until I know the person hasn't been submitted, I refuse to submit duplicates. Thanks for clarifying.
