(text won't copy)

Nicholas Perry, age 74, 5 ft 11 in, 160 lbs, gray hair. Wearing black cap, blue jeans and brown Carhartt jacket.

Vehicle was in a ditch on Armbrust Rd near Bartz. He phoned family at 6:30pm and said he was waiting for a tow truck.

Wyoming County Sheriff's Office, volunteer firefighters, county Emergency Management, Highway Department and a K9 from Genesee County Sheriff's Dept searched until midnight. Search resumed Saturday morning and was called off at 2:30pm. Search was concentrated in an area of about half a square mile. It hasn't been decided when the search will resume.

The Fire / EMS coordinator said it would be difficult to survive in current weather conditions -- 20 degree temperature, high winds and snow depth. He said, "on the other hand, he could be in someone's home."

WARSAW — Wyoming County authorities are discussing when they’ll be able to continue the search for a missing man. The man has been missing since Friday evening when his vehicle went into a ditch in Sheldon.

“We’re still trying to plan what we’re doing this week with Emergency Services. We’re just trying to figure out what day is going to be the ideal day to go up there this week and try to put a conclusion to all of this,” Acting Sheriff David Linder said this morning. “We’re still reaching out to the State Police and the other agencies and trying to come up with a game plan.

The missing man is Nicholas A. Perry, 74, described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds with grey hair and wearing a black cap, blue jeans, and a brown Carhartt jacket. Perry was last heard from around 6:30 p.m. Friday, when he called to tell his family he was waiting for a tow truck. His vehicle had gone into a ditch on Armbrust Road, authorities said.

Expected news, but sad. :(

TOWN OF SHELDON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office announced a Strykersville man was found dead Tuesday after he crashed his vehicle during the snowstorm on November 18.

**************

On Tuesday, the weather allowed for the State Police Aviation Unit to get a helicopter airborne and assist in the search and around noon a body was located several hundred yards from the scene of the accident site in a field covered with snow.

The sheriff's office said deputies and troopers confirmed the body found was Perry. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the case of death.
