GUILTY NY - Orsolya Gaal, 51, body found in duffel bag, Queens, Apr 2022 *Arrest* #3

I think I read that it slashed all the way to her trachea which would definitely preclude screaming.

Well that’s a gruesome image to say the least. Hopefully she didn’t suffer too much :(

I will never understand the brutality of slashing someone's throat and then stabbing them some 55+ times.

DB had like 3 hours after killing victim to read victim's texts after he killed victim. If DB and victim were having affair relationship issues, why would the spare key still be kept in same spot? Also, I think the timing of DB arriving 10 after victim returned home is odd to me. Victim drinking alone at bar for like 40 mins- I wonder if victim sent DB a breakup text while at bar that triggered DB to show up at house. I still find it odd that fight would start in basement but kitchen steak knife (which did not seem to be kept in basement) would be used as murder weapon. Victim seemed to already have an Electrician-Painter-Power Washer "Handyman" so why the need to post on family fridge to find a new handyman. My guess is DB wrote the note. It is sickening that the (ex) lover was in the house at same time as 13 year old son. Thank goodness he was not stabbed as well.

Back when I thought that New York has “premeditation = 1st degree murder,” I thought that the kitchen knife and the attack in the basement would show premeditation. But New York has a different definition, so it’s not really relevant. It might affect sentencing issues, still.

haven't been able to catch up so I hope this isn't too repetitive....I wish they hadn't let the people empty the creeps apartment....he is so strange, he may have done some similar attack before and there could be evidence in his stuff...

call me naïve, but unless one of OG's close girlfriends confirmed it, this affair could be just a fantasy in his mind.....

all of this is very upsetting to me.....maybe because OG seemed like a very decent person and we have no idea what kind of inner turmoil she might have had...

sad sad sad all around......

Apparently the perp knew he was being watched and didn't confess right away when questioned at the police station:

This Clue Helped Cops Solve the Horrific Murder of a Mom in Queens

On Thursday, the detectives continued their surveillance of Bonola’s residence in working-class South Richmond Hill, on the far side of the park from Gaal’s home in more well-to-do Forest Hills. The senior NYPD supervisor told The Daily Beast Bonola engaged the detectives in conversation, saying he had been seeing them around, and asking if they were looking for him. Detectives replied that they wanted to talk to him at some point; he told them he had been very busy with work.

“How about now?” a detective asked.

By the supervisor’s account, Bonola agreed and rode with the detectives to the 112th precinct station house. He was questioned in “the box,” as the interrogation room is called in real life, as well as TV.

For about a half hour, the supervisor continued, Bonola sought to divert the detectives’ attention to other men—even other handymen. The detectives asked him about an injury to his left hand and the supervisor said he told the cops that he had hurt it the other day at work.

The man who found the bag with Orsolya's body was at the police station when they brought in her son:

Orsolya Gaal's son, 13, was 'dragged through police station' after mom killed

Nostrand had been waiting inside the station to give a statement when the boy was brought in.

He recounted for The US Sun how the teen was "dragged" through the station with no shoes on and wearing what appeared to be pajamas.

Nostrand wouldn't realize who the boy was until hours later when Gaal's body was officially identified by police.

The May 2020 timeframe was when DB was responding to victim's fb posts, so sounds like that was a possibility.
He made all the comments on June 17 2020, so he was commenting on her old posts (some from 2019).

Another fb profile from 2016 (not much there): Dave Bono
I forgot to add that in the above profile he names his school in Mexico: CBTIS 194 Ayala (south of Mexico City). CBTIS stands for Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Industrial y de servicios.

The most important thing that happens now is that LE gets all the evidence they need safely to lock this animal up for as long as possible.
Rest assured, cutting a throat and stabbing over 50 times is all any judge or jury will need to hear, it can never be justified.
A jack of all trades, master of none. A chameleon. He was invested in Orsolya when at best, for her, he was a handyman.
There can never be enough for this guy, not only lucky enough to be employed by this family, he wanted more.
I am so sad for Orsolya and her family, shocking.

Also, there is a video on the YouTube playlist in Spanish with a title that translates to “why women are unfaithful”.

The video itself was posted 7 years ago so it’s hard to tell when DB found it. It could either be when he first met the victim and tried to have her have an affair with him. If it’s true that the victim was texting other men during the time she broke up with him, I’m inclined to think that he watched it recently to see what went wrong with them.
If videos on yt playlists appear in chronological order of their addition (which appears to be the case), then he added the video "Top ways to take control back from the narcissist" between April 7 and 9.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEQnRNkJWziZ_eyk5hcZojCwsVwUcQ5Ih

He also created other substantial playlists, like the one titled "Detective investigator FBI criminology", which includes multiple videos on Jodi Arias' trial. I hope he doesn't have a WS profile.

BBM Again, I am in no way defending the actions of this monster, and nothing she may have done justified the actions of this brutal killer, but to state that at best, for her, he was a handyman is to completely refute the definitive statement by the NYPD chief of detectives that OG and DB did, in fact, have an on again/off again intimate affair for 2 years. These guys aren't Sheriff Andy Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife. They are top-notch professionals. They hear lies from creeps all the time, so I am sure they did not just take his word for it. They have evidence to substantiate that claim, that will surely come out in trial. Refusing to acknowledge that is anyone's prerogative, but the people that most need to know that clearly do. I too hope he is put away for a very long time. JMO

I agree with your comments. I wonder if we will ever know if there were messages that occurred between the two of them just before he showed up at her house. This case seems to be a crime of passion and he really lost it if he inflicted almost 60 stab wounds and cut her throat. It is just horrific.

Seems he felt himself to be a victim for whatever reason. At which point he should have cut contact and stepped away from the situation. That would have been very easy for him to do, given the presumably secret nature of the relationship and the physical distance between them. But no, he had to assert himself and regain control. JMO.

His interest in criminal investigations really didn’t do him much good, did it? He has to be one of the most haphazard criminals I have come across. Jodie Arius, what a role model

To add - the communications between the two of them must have been very recent, IMO. It appears to me that he knew her husband and oldest son were out of town and I might also add that I think he knew that her youngest son was on the third floor.

This is JMO, but I think it is possible he grabbed the knife from the kitchen and forced her down to the basement. She may have been unable to scream (throat cut) and then he went into overkill mode. To me, this would explain why her son didn't hear anything.

I'm not sure he went over with the intention of murdering her. He may have been in a rage and thought he could talk her out of ending the relationship. When he saw her in person at her house, I think may have been made clear by her that it was indeed over and he then exploded in a rage. JMO.

They haven't said anything about him stalking her before he murdered her, from what I've read. I think if he did stalk her, she was unaware of it, because I don't think she'd venture out to the city on her own if she was afraid he might do something crazy.

Is there a possibility that:
He got enraged because:
1. The break up was final
2. She showed him the note on the fridge
3. She may have told him that she would report his status
4. Loss of a lucreative income

#5. She was seeing other men? ( other than her husband obviously!)

LE apparently was interested in contacting 2 other men she was communicating with as well. I think their investigative skills are sophisticated enough that they had reason to believe she may have been involved with those two in particular ( ie they could r/o folks who were innocent contacts—fellow parents, friends, relatives, etc)

Not victim blaming here, just looking at all possibilities.

Agree. It is hard to understand this because a "normal" person would do as you said, step away from the situation. This is JMO, but there was a huge disparity between the two of them, in terms of social and economic status. Their lives were very, very different, just from what we know now. This may have been part of the allure, to him.

I think it's possible that he may have overblown the relationship in his mind, thinking he was a serious contender, if only he could make her see the light. I do think it is possible that he may have stalked her, without her realizing it, before the murder. The two (stalking and murder) seem to go hand-in-hand in some cases.

Comparison to Jodi Arias is a good one. She was indeed very sloppy and it sounds like this guy was, too. She didn't give it up very easily with LE, though. She told bizarre story after story before finally admitting the truth. He turned himself in and they have him. Now am wondering if this will be a plea deal case or if he comes up with a story, or stories, like Anthony Todt did, and he fights the charges.

All JMO.

I wonder if there were other women that got involved with him as part of a "handyman" relationship based on his work in their homes, but now would be reluctant, naturally, to come forward if their spouses were not aware of the situation. If so, they must be going through a lot of mixed emotions knowing it could have been one of them. I hope they seek confidential counseling, and maybe the counselor can testify on their client's behalf, based on confidentially of their profession. These women might have important information to share.

omg … this poor boy!! Horrible

ETA - wanted to add - no judgment at all intended re NYPD - can easily imagine this was the only reasonable response as things were found. But still - w benefit of hindsight we all have now but they didn’t then - so awful for this poor kid!

How incredibly sad. That poor child is forever traumatized for so many reasons.
