Here is my conspiracy theory for this. The girl was his betrothed and when she turned 12, she was sent to him from her parents. Of course, it would be statutory rape in the US, so the parents came out after a few months and said she had run away. That way they are not implicated. Everything was kept hush-hush. Did it say that this guy had a wife somewhere or who the mother of the baby is?

I also have to wonder if the mother of the baby was his "runaway" sister. She either was raped by her brother, got pregnant, hid till the baby was born and was banished (or killed) or possibly was impregnated by a boyfriend the family did not approve of, and the brother kept the baby after the birth. If they are strict in their religious beliefs, this could easily happen.

Disgusting.

Even if she was alone, at one point, seven months ago, like the article says the neighbor said, it doesn't mean diddly squat. There is such a thing as a captive of fear.

She is a child, not a wife, or a babysitter, or a house guest. No matter what your reasons, you don't keep a child that is not yours in your home. You don't have sex and conceive a child with that captive child.

This happens so much more than anyone wants to believe. No one talks about it, so there is very little support for the specialized nature of the help that a child of that age needs after being the victim of that type of crime. And it will follow her.
There are many people that are uncomfortable with me simply because they are very uncomfortable with the crimes that have been committed against me. It's hard for me to explain someone else's motivation or thoughts, but I can tell that there are those that think I am "tainted." I hope that as this girl gets older, she meets a minimum of those people.

:waitasec: Where is the girl now? She must have parents somewhere.

If he found a run away :waitasec: why didn't he find Social services too? :waitasec:
Based on his name if I am not mistaken about what I think culturally they do have sex with 13 year old girls.

Did he buy her? :waitasec:
I don't see much new on this case.....

Is he a rapist or someone who just gave shelter to a runaway? That's the debate over Michael Abdallah, the Buffalo man accused of abusing a 13-year-old girl.

Abdallah's half sister, Mariah Perez, believes the authorities have gotten it all wrong.

"He's not a monster like everybody's making him out to be," said Perez.

Why, ask relatives of Michael Abdullah, would a 26-year-old father of a 1-year-old boy, a man who had a girlfriend, have sex with a 13-year-old girl, and keep her in his control for more than a year?

Perez said, "I can't see him as the type of person that would do that to somebody, especially a 13-year-old-girl. It's not believable."

But sources tell News 4 police are convinced that Michael Abdullah knew the age of the runaway child he took in, and at some point, though it may have been a short time, held her against her will. Police say a missing person report was filed by her family and that's why Michael was also charged with custodial interference.

Accused rapist's family not new to news
Abdallah's family has made headlines repeatedly

We're learning more shocking revelations about a man accused in the repeated rape of an under-age girl held captive in a Buffalo home.

We've learned this investigation started in December when a 1-year-old baby boy was brought to Women and Children's Hospital with a burn on his hand. Police learned that at the time of the burn, a 13-year-old girl was watching the child. That led authorities to arrest Michael Abdallah.

This is a family whose problems have made the news more than once. Information is tough to obtain, but here is what we know.
.................
Michael Abdallah is believed to be the son of Salah Abdullah, the owner of the deli that caught fire, and where firefighters Lt. Charles Chip McCarthy and Donathan Croom lost their lives after becoming trapped.

Michael's brother Adel told News 4 he hasn't had contact with Michael for two years. The father has returned to Yemen.

Back in September of 2008, Michael's sister Etidall, 21, a college sophomore at the time, suddenly disappeared after going into a Lackawanna grocery store. She was the subject of searches and prayer vigils.

Only to surface five months later. She had been living with a relative's girlfriend in Buffalo, telling authorities she was ok. It is still unclear why she went into hiding.

Now 26-year-old Michael is in trouble, with no family members willing to step forward and discuss his case. An aunt of Michael's in Florida said the family doesn't know much. She told News 4, "he got himself into a situation" and that's all she said.

<snip>

Abdallah is unmarried, and the identity of the child's mother is not known. Police would not say how the girl left Adbdallah's home, why there was a delay from December to February for his arrest or where the teenager is now.

Abdallah was arrested Friday when police raided his home on a child-abuse allegation, Buffalo media reported. The next day, Buffalo City Court Judge James A.W. McLeod set bond at $250,000 in an arraignment at which Abdallah represented himself. He has since been provided with a court-appointed attorney, according to media reports.

But friends of the defendant told the Buffalo News that he was nothing more than a Good Samaritan trying to help a runaway girl he met in a Buffalo park.

"Everybody has had their moments, but Mike is not a monster. As long as I've known Mike, he's always been kindhearted to me. If he could help you, he will help you," Alicia Bellaus, 20, who grew up next door to Abdallah's relatives, told the paper.

"Mike always had her calling to someone, supposedly her aunt, to say she was doing OK. From what I knew, her aunt or her mom knew where she was staying," said Bellaus, who previously had a romantic relationship with Abdallah. "To look at her, she is very developed physically, and you would think that she is older than 13."

Bellaus said the girl told her she was 17 or 18 and denied having sex with Abdallah, and that she also said she did not want to go home to her mother, the News said.

Police told the News that the family filed several missing person reports after the girl disappeared in July. And an unnamed law enforcement official told the paper that Abdallah was a manipulative drug dealer who "lured her in" and kept her trapped physically and psychologically. CNN, however, could not confirm that official's view.

Interesting news we get today on this case. The girl went missing in July 2009. Her parents did file a missing person report. All good to know. I wonder if we have a thread on her here.

Apparently the girl was found when CPS became involved over the baby's burnt hand. And the 1/2 sister that went into hiding - was she hiding from her father? Was his deli set on fire by arsonists? So sad to read about the 2 firemen.

I know none of the above has anything to do with this young girl, but it is interesting to note that this family has been having some troubles over the last couple of years.

kbl--What's wrong with you? You always think the worst. My goodness, didn't you read this line:

"To look at her, she is very developed physically, and you would think that she is older than 13."

There, do you get it now? He's just a Good Samaritan and she's just a confused runaway. No doubt she lured him and tempted him. What's a guy supposed to do when he finds a girl in the park?

Got it straight now?

Well, there's your problem. Want some nice Chardonnay? No, that was nasty. I'm not supposed to drag you down that slippery slope with me. It does take the edge off, though. Just sayin'.

so his friends knew he had a 13 year old at his house but saw no problem with it.
You crack me up
On these horrible cases it is refreshing.

Well his friend is probably of the same cultural indoctrination, and B.S is part of their socialization
Not westernized...sex at 13 is probably no big deal.
BUT, holding someone captive with no door knobs is clearly the sign of a sick F***

And what is with her family they went out to look for her for a hot minute and then what????
they went to the police a couple of times and then what????

I am not sure this girl is not a piece of work...
I am pretty sure this guy is a definite piece of work - keep the SOB locked up .

BBM..He always had her calling her family? who knew where she was staying? :waitasec:
Are they making this stuff up as they go along....

The girl did not want to go home? since when does a 13 year old get to make that decision? So where is she now?

I don't trust that ilk of people if they came with a warranty stamped with a guarantee.
they all lie... it how they are socialized from birth.

A high-profile court appearance for the Buffalo man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl and keeping her captive for months.

This case will go to a grand jury. City Court Judge James McCloud has increased bail in the case from $250,000 to $500,000, but Michael Abdallah maintains his innocence.

Michael Abdallah stands accused of having sex with a 13-year-old and keeping her, at times, locked up against her will in his house. He denies the charges.

Abdallah said, "It's all false. No [I did not rape her]. No [I did not imprison her]."
