NY NY - Port Jervis, Wht/poss HispFem 25-50, 878UFNY, skull on roof, prominent nose, May'06

As I read through the case of Beverly Mastny, I immediately thought of Port Jervis Jane Doe and thought I might as well throw her in as a suggestion. PJJD is assumed born between 1955 and 1965, though (Beverly went missing in 1953), but she was in the company of a truck driver, which could explain how she ended up in NY.

Details of Disappearance
Beverly was last seen in Broadview Heights, Ohio on September 23, 1953. She and a local truck driver, C.B. Lewis, registered at a Medina, Ohio hotel as a married couple that night, and she was seen walking in town the next day.

Lewis was later arrested in Texas for passing bad checks; Beverly wasn't with him at the time and she has never been heard from again. She may have been sighted in El Paso, Texas in January 1956 or 1957, but this hasn't been confirmed. Her case remains unsolved.

That is quite a strong facial resemblance. Did you submit it?

No, I rarely do. Feel free to submit if you feel strongly about it.

Have to think about it. The circumstances don't make her a real strong candidate.

I heard back from Amy Jenkins, she is sending if off to the investigating agency, I will keep you posted. Or actually we won't know a thing. Only if there is a rule out. BTW neither woman has any comparisons to date.

The resemblance to the drawing is strong. My question would be where was she for those two years? Assuming there was foul play involved, was she murdered shortly after her disappearance and then hidden for two years before her skull shows up a thousand miles away? That's definitely not a reason to rule her out, but there would be a lot of questions that would need to be answered.

Jane Doe's death is estimated at 1995 and earlier, though. If anything, her DOD would be off at several years too late, so to say.

In this case, the rest of her remains could be anywhere--somebody could have picked up her skull and kept it, maybe for a prank or maybe for a ritual of some kind.

Port Jervis Jane Doe has been unidentified for 14 years today.

No identifiers. How disappointing.

This is just so weird so many questions. I wonder if it belonged to someone from the tire shop or someone they knew.

Apparently there's a thing where leaving a skull on the person's roof is supposed to be a curse, or something like that. They sell skulls for that on the internet...I don't know how you'd begin to check that.

Robin Anne Vaudreuil Robin Anne Vaudreuil – The Charley Project? She's been missing from Worcester, Massachusetts since 17 April 1995. The last time her mother spoke to her Robin told her she was going to Oswego, NY (approximately 302 miles from Worcester). As far as anyone knew, she had no prior connection to the area. She did however have a history of hitchhiking and riding with truckers. Worcester is approximately 197 miles from Port Jervis, NY. Robin's thread: MA - MA - Robin Anne Veudreuil, 32, Worcester, 17 April 1995. I believe there's a resemblance between the two, side-by-sides of PJJD and RAV:

It looks like a possibility you should submit it! Port Jervis Doe has no rule outs.

Great find! Interstate 84 runs "through" Port Jervis, so it's not a huge stretch to think she could have hitched a ride and ended up in PJ.

That is likely because PJJD has no identifiers available to make any comparisons with. This case might be a suggestion for DNA Doe Project in the future.

Yeah. They can make a certain limited number of ruleouts based on the nose mismatch, but that's about it. Yeah, definitely a case for DNA research.
