https://qns.com/story/2018/02/23/detectives-investigating-body-found-washed-long-island-city-pier/

Law enforcement sources said the responding officers found the unidentified man lying face down at the location. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene; police did not immediately know how long the man had been there.

Police did not disclose the man’s identity, pending family notification. His body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

I guess the never figured out who he was.

Maybe this guy went missing from Long Island a while ago. Eyes mentioned hazel but you know how that goes. His ears kind of look like the UID.
It's weird because the UID looks like he has no teeth but it's not mentioned anywhere anything about teeth or no teeth so I don't know.

The NamUs page is down, hopefully he's been identified. I can't find confirmation that he's been identified, but from the articles I've seen about this case is sounds like his identity was known to the police.

So I guess he should be moved to Identified. His profile no longer shows

In addition the newspaper article link above states "Cops are withholding the man's identity until his family is notified. A medical examiner will determine his cause of death, police said." Nice he was Identified so quickly. Either he was recognized or had ID on him.
