A large-scale search is underway today for a hiker who didn’t return from a daytrip up Gothics Mountain.

At 4,736 feet, Gothics is the 10th highest mountain in the Adirondack Park.

A Webster man has been found dead after a search in the Adirondack Mountains.

According to our affiliate WPTZ, Ralph "Skip" Baker, age 50, was found in the east branch of the AuSable River near the base of the Wolfjaw Mountain Tuesday morning.

Officials say he went missing Sunday night while hiking with a group.

The coroner tells WPTZ it appears Baker went down a 350-foot drop into the river. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.
