Rick.:
I'm the person who reported to the police as well as his mother Rita that I saw him getting into a car driven by Ed Myzell, who I believed to had lived on Sharon pkwy. I still believe Myzell was responsible.

I wish there was more info about Randy out there. Imaging his mother hoping he’d come home and placing ads asking him to get in touch just guts me.

  • #8
So, Is the car missing along with him?

  • #9
It doesn't sound like the car was his. he was seen riding in the car, not driving it.

I was not sure. Now reading back. Says car he was Leaving in and car he was Riding in. Yes, it Sounds like someone’s else’s car.

Also there is above a message I copied from the missing profile from a Rick In 2014 that mentions some Ed guy driving the car he was last seen in. Sounds like this Rick must of been a friend of Randy.

Yes this is a very sad case his mother looking for him for so long.

And sorry for the typo.. inmates supposed to be images!!!!

Yes it’s beyond heartbreaking.. I come back to this case from time to time. It bothers me. Especially since someone wrote a person of interest in one of the profiles. I often wonder if it was ever looked into?

This place is surrounded by tons of Forrests… Lake Erie and Niagara Falls. Ugh

The place is one big deciduous forest. It looks like a giant bowl of broccoli from above.

And someone has to know (have known) something. Being the late 70s, the police probably didn’t care too much about an adult riding off in a car with an acquaintance.

When I came across Randy's page while looking for possible matches, his case intrigued me for some reason. He left in a vehicle that I'm presuming has never been located or anyone talked to the owner. He has a lot of distinguishing marks, such as the crowded teeth and chipped tooth. Doe Network states he had a broken leg and possibly even a fractured collarbone. The belt buckle with the marijuana leaf. The way the newspaper article in his NamUs described how he often wore his hair. I don't know, it all just deeply humanizes him to me.

Unfortunate that there isn't more information on him, but not surprising. He was just another one of many teenagers and young adults who were lost in the 70s and probably not looked into much since there were no obvious signs of foul play. And his poor mother who offered a reward and never ended up getting answers. Since he left voluntarily, I imagine there weren't many leads. Sad to think of what became of him. Hope you're doing good somewhere, Randy... wherever you are.

For me, it was his mother’s ads in the paper asking him to get in touch.

There's very interesting information about the previously mentioned comment (Rick.: I'm the person who reported to the police as well as his mother Rita that I saw him getting into a car driven by Ed Myzell, who I believed to had lived on Sharon pkwy. I still believe Myzell was responsible.)
There's no Ed Myzell, but there's a Myzel family who lived on E. Milnor Avenue... and one of their children was a murderer: William Myzel.

He gave me the identity of “Rick” and also confirmed that Randy got into a car belonging to Ely Myzel (the father of the above mentioned William). According to him, Randy was an extremely heavy user of weed and had gotten into some trouble with Ely over this. He went on to tell me that “Rick” knew the location of Randy’s body. I have been told where Randy’s body can be found and have passed this information on to the Lackawanna City Police.

Ely’s been dead for 20 years.

What does one do with a neighborhood weed head in your car? Kill him and hide the body? Seems extreme. It will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere.
