Sounds like they suspect he jumped.

A memorial service for Richard D. "Butch" Figura, who has been missing since Jan. 9 and is believed to have drowned, will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Hardison Funeral Homes, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.


Figura, 30, of Charlotteville Road, had been a machinist at the Dern Moore Machine Co. of Lockport for six years.


A native of Lewiston and a 1976 graduate of Lewiston-Porter Central High School, he was a lifelong resident of the Newfane-Ransomville-Wilson area.

He was treasurer of the Niagara County Motorcycle Club and a member of the Niagara County Chapter of the American Bikers Aiming Toward Education, a group known as ABATE.


Personal property that belonged to Figura was found near the American Falls in the Niagara River shortly after state parks police were told a body had been sighted Jan. 9 in the lower Niagara River rapids. The body has not been recovered.

Survivors include his wife, the former Pamela Boore; a daughter, Jessica, and a stepdaughter, Stephanie Costanzo; his parents, Richard and Louise West Figura of Ransomville; two sisters, Diane Allen of Maine and Darlene of Ransomville, and a brother, James of Ransomville.

Sounds like they suspect he jumped.

Thank you for the post. Yes, now I've read it, that's my conclusion to. Sadly no body found and I doubt they ever will. May you be in peace now Mr. Sagura.

Not sure if this means anything but I found identified skeletal remains in nj that seem to fit the plaid shirt in the description he was wearing at the time . It’s always a possibly I guess .
