You learn something new every day, as the old saying goes.
I have an old computer and laptop sitting around, wondering how to dispose. Arrow scrap can help:

Arrow Scrap Corp. also accepts electronics and computer scrap for recycling. We provide certified destruction service for confidential data and materials during our recycling process. The electronics and computer scrap that we accept are as follows:

Just thinking outside the box a bit. :seeya:

WELCOME to WS NCNY Nice you are posting here; thanks for your good first post. I agree with Elainera that it will be helpful if you get verified as an insider by WS. It is easy to do and your identification will be kept confidential by WS; unless you choose to self identify to the forum.

Throughout this Thread there has been speculation/opinions that RM may have had an addiction. Do we have any confirmed information from someone close to RM that he had an addiction? Any msm links?

Good question. According to IM, she asked them end of June.
If my husband went missing, I would immediately go to police, then to all contacts, friends and co-workers. The last place I would look is train station, especially if he never took the train. I am very curious to know why they went to look at the station.

Re: BBM - Same for me BunnyHop.
In RM's case, seems there was a police report made immediately and it seems family & friends were pulled-in quickly, as it was reported they were looking Friday night & Saturday. As far as co-workers, it has been reported that IM spoke with co-workers later in June.

Based on following cases here on WS, gone missing cases are initially handled by families in a number of different ways. In some cases there is a delay in reporting/searching because family is confused, in shock, thinking the missing will appear or call soon, etc. The family may be at a loss of what to do. While in others they are all over it and using social media and regular media. In RM's case - LE has been basically mum and basic details from family initially slow to come out.

Some random thoughts on the train station. I think the station is a natural place to look when someone goes missing. The train station is a quick & easy way to get to someplace else fast (the city, airport, etc.). I wonder if they also searched at the other train stations (with parking) - in addition to Deer Park.

IMO, RM did not leave his car at the train station himself.

Do you think he met someone there? It still remains possible he took the train. IDK.

My current theory is he was accosted near the train station. From the evidence we know, I do not believe he is missing by his own volition.

My 2,000th post came and went.

I pray the Mayer family gets their husband, father and son back unharmed. My heart aches for them.

I think the most likely scenario is that whoever parked the car at the train station took the train. I hope the train station and the trains that stop there on a daily basis are plastered with his missing flyer.

Another thought: someone here said it would be quite unlikely to park the car so close to the ticket booth during rush hour or during the day because the parking lot is full. It would be more likely that the car was parked there in the evening/night/next morning. So assuming that that was done, where was the car between roughly 2pm and much later that day? Did it go on a trip? Was is parked somewhere else?

Actually on a Friday afternoon it may have been quite easy to get a spot that close. Think about it. Those who take the train earliest in the morning get the closer spots. And they get home earlier too, so they free up the closer spots.

Commuters are creatures of habit. They usually try to find a the same parking spot and the same seat on the train every day.

Someone should stand exactly where the car was found at the train station starting at 1PM on Friday afternoons into Saturdays at 8:30 PM and ask every commuter who passes by if they saw the car there on the 14-15 of June. That would help narrow the timeline for when the car was parked there.

Believe me, as most train stations are on Long Island, It is EXTREMELY difficult to get a good spot on anytime during 9--6pm. Just because someone goes into work earlier does NOT mean they get out earlier, even if it's a Friday.

If a crime was committed, car had to be dropped either that night, or early the next morning, or even any time Sat as the lot would be lighter on Sat. But best bet it was after dark on Friday, or Early morning Sat.

The records have been processed from the beginning, the cell phone was found in the beginning, it just wasnt first priority for IM to update us and press coverage has been few and far between

I do understand the public wasn't her first priority, but if the cell phone records were processed in the beginning, how come results are still not available?

Does it take over a month to obtain results by LE? I find this difficult to believe. I get my cell phone bill in a month with every number I called and calls received.

It should have taken LE no longer than a few days to process these records with all the technology available to them.

Could he have been addicted to something and this was a deal gone bad? It's been four weeks and not much has come out about this case in the media. Seems odd to me. He vanished in the middle of the day. Or maybe he does not want to be found? I got a bad feeling about this case meaning someone close knows alot more about his disappearance. :scared:

Right now, this is my first theory. Some addiction/issue of some sort.

It fits in with IM saying along the lines of "Rob would be home if he could..." I always read that as, something keeping him away. Not necessarily a person but an addction.

I don't see this as a suicide. I don't see this as him leaving his family to start over. Crime, definitely a possibillity especially if you are dealing with drugs, money, & nefarious people.

I'm 2 pages behind but this is my first thought today. I always felt he was in trouble in some way and not away on his own accord so maybe there is an addiction involved. It actually makes a lot of sense to me.

Totally agree, Jerry, re the whole 9 yards, from the names ending in vowels to the slap on the wrist. The ringleader, from easily obtainable public records, does not strike me as someone who would let it lie.

The only other possibility I can think of is that it may have to do with copper theft. I don't think the scrap guys are involved though. They surely would have known of a better way to dispose of the car. Maybe coworkers? Maybe RM was talking to LE?

But your post above that one re the train station, I disagree. I do think there would have been a spot available close to the tracks at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. I commuted for many years...

BBM - Those are my thoughts. IMO the car was not left at the station around 2pm Friday. I don't believe he parked the car himself. :scared:

IMO they have the results, but haven't made them publically available. I understand it's an ongoing investigation, but they are certainly keeping a lot of information away from the public. The more time passes the more memories fade - they need to put out public inquiries, jog people's memories NOW. :banghead:

Throwing this out there, with all this talk of guys in suits and/or OC, could this possibly be a ransom situation? There was a guy a few weeks ago rescued from a warehouse, was held for a month tied up. Just a thought, could explain LE being so quiet and family fear of speaking publicly.

Interesting theory.

I found the article but it won't open on my computer so can't post a link, basically guy was held for 32 days in a Long Island City warehouse, tied up and tortured. But rescued. If someone can post the link that would be great.

I think if it were to be a kidnaping for ransom, LE would insist, and Ida would likely adhere to LE's request/insistence that she not post publicly. Too much could go wrong.
