Curious-- could be right??????

Thats a thought Eileen-------we have heard alot of the "garage" at the house--nothing of interior--RM left things in the garage and then left from there. It sounds (or is made to sound) that the last time he was ever in the house is when he left for work in the early morning.

I don't think he left his wallet in the garage in the morning.
I think he came back and left his wallet when they have video of the car driving down his street.
This is my theory lol........
He drove back to the house but didn't park in the drive maybe parked a down the block...He went to the garage left his wallet and was it money he got from the scrap yard????
He got his bike and left and(blank) got in his car and took it to the train station! Maybe they are showing the wrong pic at the train station cause Robert was never there.....

I wondered that as well---I also wondered if RM is moving around and that could be why multiple searches at same locations.

Its been 2 months--if he is alive and left of his own accord (which is my opinion) he has to be somewhere sustainable--have food, clothing, money, shelter, medication (if that is applicable).

Hiding in plain sight?? It could be--he is a nice looking guy, not an unusual looking guy.

I don't think hes out walking around but he might not be far from home.

Yes exactly!
He could be right there?
Maybe with his mom?

I had considered a breakdown where he or his mother felt he needed "time away" from his life, however the wallet and location of the car indicate an attempt at deception by the subject or another involved individual(s).

I am a little dubious about union or company involvement as to cover up sub standard construction would also involve duping or paying off the code enforcement officers/building inspectors and keeping the other trades and sub-contractors involved quiet. That's quite a few people to keep hushed up. They would all figure out very quickly that one of their own had gone missing and put two and two together. Possible, but not at the top of my list.

I wonder if the subject or family has a boat, trailer in a seasonal campground or hunting cabin?

I do not think this is work related at all.
I think whatever has happened is centered around whats going on in Their life.

I do feel his mom would hide him.

That's a great question?
I don't think they go camping tho or hunting!
You have to remember this man has never spent a night away from his family!

I think if he had a cabin or something he would have gone there with his buddies sometime in the past.

What nags me about pulling this string is the location of the car and the wallet. If he was hiding out, would he risk damage or theft of the car due to the location it was parked? The car was something precious to him. In my opinion it would take a lot to not only abandon it, but to leave something you treasure to the high probability of being damaged or stolen. That would imply extreme motivation to be out of sight. The location of the wallet was less of a risk being a possible error (forgot) or deception.

Ah...would his buddies have a hunting cabin? Somewhere not checked in a while?

I would still look into the boat/trailer option as I know a few tight knit families that have trailers in campgrounds.

Never spent a night away from his family sends up a red flag for me. Either extreme family devotion or someone may have had a controlling nature? I have seen both a few times.

Something is going on in this mans life.... To me he was sending a message.
I hope he didn't kill himself.
I want to believe hes hiding somewhere but so many times when you see ppl
leave their wallets and stuff behind it does not have a good ending.
Seems some money troubles maybe? Living beyond their means?
That trip to Italy is no small expense.

I just think this is all centered around the home life not his work life.

I do not think there is any foul play!

He either left on his own which I sincerely hope he did.
Or he committed suicide!

If he no longer cared what his wife or children thought, would he be that worried about his car? I guess I'm thinking if he cared more his car than anything else, he is very selfish and shallow. I thought he would turn up soon, because I thought he had walked away. Now I don't know due to the length of time. I always think people will start to feel bad, and come back. But..........jmo

Yes I saw red flags also!
But you don't know who the controlling party is in relationships could be either husband or wife. I have seen both sides of that coin!

Family devotion is one thing but to never have been away once. Not go out with friends? Something off to me there.

stupid question regarding "the wallet"--- (won't make it in caps like I do with the car--THE CAR)---what about ID etc that would be found usually in the wallet---is it there?? license, credit cards, business cards, union card, insurance cards.

and heck--lets talk about it---what is the Kelly Blue Book value of RM's red car????
I am not a car person so I don't know what is collectible etc.

"never spending the night away"--- yes--either controlling spouse, devoted spouse or maybe spouse with a medical issue????? slightly OT-thinking of my father-in-law who suffered head-trauma at 48 and had to retire--caused short-term memory loss and other issues

One scenario that gets much less consideration is suicide. Most of us consider foul play at the scrap yard, foul play from the scrap yard between being there and 1:45ish when his phone last pinged, to a lesser extent foul play at the garage at 2:45, or he took off, either alone or with someone. The suicide angle is starting to grow on me. I have two examples of suicides that have occurred in my life. The first was a co-worker. He had a TON of money, beautiful wife, beautiful home and two children. He also had a very bad alcohol problem. He drank mornings, hid bottles in places he knew he could access easily. It was very bad. He always said if he ever felt that he'd never be able to beat his addiction that he'd kill himself. One day he jumped in front of a train and did just that. Another example was a buddy of mine who was having marital problems. Friends of his, including me, did not know the extent of the problems. Turns out, after the fact we found out his wife was in another relationship and was planning on leaving. My buddy asphyxiated himself in the garage so that she'd find him. This was SO OUT OF THE BLUE for any outsider. Shocking.

So, we never exactly know what demons people are fighting. Could RM have had a problem that he couldn't deal with? Could he, just like my co-worker, have told IM of his problem and mentioned if he felt he couldn't beat it he'd kill himself? IM's comment "I FEEL the Edgewood Preserve is the place to look" resonates with me. Did he ever tell her he'd go there to harm himself? The preserve is very nearby the train station. Put the bike in the car, park at the station, ride the bike to the preserve. Move seat up to get it out. Leave the ID at home. Perhaps, in his head he was trying to spare the kids by being unidentifiable. If he went deep and far enough into the preserve, it could be a very long time to be found, if ever. I know there wasn't a scent at the station. Maybe if he got right on the bike it would be hard to get.

Anyway, with the lack of any new information, this is the latest scenario rolling around my head.

here is my thougts, with the car we do not know what time the car was parked there. that station is pretty packed so unless he got lucky with that spot or it wasnt parked there until after the 7pm train or sometime on saturday. the wallet, we have no idea what time the wallet was found. was it found in morning or after searching when he didn't come home? IM said she has license and cc but that doesn't mean he didn't have another one issued if this was a planned thing. searching the same area just does not make sense to me due to the fact that the dogs NEVER picked up a scent so how would he get into the woods? Why didn't the dogs seach arrow if that was the last known place. i also wonder if the kids phone records have been searched to see of any unknown callers happened. IM said he could be wearing sneakers or boots, are both missing and is that something that is normal for RM to take both shoes to work. JMO

I agree! But you have to go back and look at the entire pic.
The troubles of the past.....Have they begun to catch up with him.
We don't know if the past has anything to do with whats going on now do we?
I think you start there and move forward! Rule everything out.
For him to go to the scrap yard with a minimal amount to scrap screams to me money troubles.

I am thinking suicide also sadly!
It kind of makes sense.

Like what kind of medical issues?
that woud have been the first thing Ida would have said He needs his meds if he was on any JMO.

I think the poor guy was way in over his head!
Sad!
