BBM... so if RM parked his car June 14 around 2:45pm, car is found at 8pm June 15, car is in a very busy parking lot, with lots of exhaust, right up front so lots of people walking around it, it very well could be that the dog did not pick up his scent? How long would it take the dogs to arrive after the car is found? That could factor in a few more hours of contamination, I would imagine.

.

I agree 100%. If there was rain on the blacktop or concrete, or if a contracted sweeping service had cleaned the lot (they use water spray to keep the dust down), good by scent.

Again, let's please leave the Facebook drama over there and off of this thread...

WOW....this is big, because, theoretically, RM very well could have parked his own car in his favorite spot.

Do coincidences occur, sure, absolutely. But how many can occur in this case? Here are the ones I remember, I am sure there are more....in no particular order

1. He "forgets" his wallet home on the day he disappears
2. After the 9am call from IM, He doesnt get/make not one single text/phone call on his cell phone that he uses for both work and personal....keeping in mind he works on a job site, no land line(he wasnt at an office)
3. He leaves work early that day
4. Phone goes "dead" even with barely any usage
5. Train station has no cameras.
6. Cameras not working at Arrow
7. Car is found somewhere he avoids like the plague
8. IM not home at 2:45 when he (or his car) is last seen on video...EVEN THOUGH she was "expecting him home" around that time
9. Just happens to be seen at Arrow, at that SPECIFIC scrap yard, after co-workers suggests to IM to look there TWO WEEKS after his disappearance
10. Not one surv cam or person spots him anywhere after Arrow

Re #9 specifically...if he was a regular at scrap yard then why would coworkers think it may have something to do with disappearance? Also, why did they wait two weeks to tell IM?

If the theory is that he was SO miserable that he felt he had to leave his wife and kids and start a new life...then he wouldnt bother with the lunch pail and club. He would be focused on just getting as far away as possible and leaving it all behind. Im thinking more "take your car and shove it..." And possibly leaving it a mess.

Sounds harsh, but, think about the frame of mind of someone who has reached his breaking point.

Just jumping in off your post, hope you don't mind!

Maybe he sold his tools to the scrap yard which is why they are gone?

<modsnip>

Still on the fence myself. Occams Razor would suggest that he ran off. Except the lack of smell outside his car at the station.

Unless he jumped out of his car and hopped in someone else's - takes 2 minutes, would scent be traceable then?

Wanted to think that IM had something to do with knowing something but would she be so vocal on FB if she knew anything or would she be hiding in her house?

I keep thinking about RM's mother. Now, he could be over his marriage, life, etc. but would he leave and not tell his mom anything? Let her worry for the duration of her life? (Or could she know where he is?)

Ok, random thoughts.

What he sold and for how much might be the clue we are looking for.... And for all we know...two weeks delay might be friends covering an "exit stage right"

BBM....You know what, she's not that vocal. She has a lot of people talking for her. Is that a legal thing, I wonder? A legal tactic?

Since we dont know what was scrapped...tools, copper, iphone...anything is possible. Although, i believe tools are more valuable on the resale market than to scrap.

The FB page is not what it was set up to be. Its very tightly controlled by admins and the simplest question sends everyone into delete mode. I do believe there are alot of curious people but you know what?? If thats what it takes to find a loved one and keep his story alive...i say answer the questions! You never know who may stumble upon a clue.

And I might add a lot of strangers.

I've actually heard two different stories about the wallet:
1) he didn't have it with him all day, left it at home that morning before work
2) he had it with him all day & at the scrapyard and left it in the garage when he was home that afternoon.

#1 was originally reported, right after the disappearance

#2 is rumor, I believe, from all the theories that have been thrown around.

Ah yes.. me too. The first from fb and the second solely from here. I see no "facts" about this, only IM and rumor IIRC

No Confirmation of either one-----IM may have stated he left it in the morning, because she assumed that, as one normally would, not thinking or knowing that he stopped home for a brief time in the afternoon. Another thing that is not clear.

I believe it was stated from day one that wallet was left at home that morning.
IIRC it was only later that posters on FB and WS brought up the possibility that the wallet was left when/if he stopped at home.

But yes...again nothing factual.

What I remember is she wasn't sure. They assumed he left it in the morning because he was running late. But I have always thought he left it when he came back that afternoon

And, back to the facts: we don't have a lot of those to go on. How can that be????

He was at work and Arrow Scrap....and car at Deer Park. That's about it.

Just checked FB FAQ sheet. Answer about wallet was he has left it home before. BUT......

There is a FAQ I had not seen before as the sheet is constantly updated.

Someone questioned about the car key fob, and the answer is

"No, my GTO has a dumb key fob, only opens and closes the door locks and a separate button for the trunk release.............The 04 GTO seat motor is so ridiculously slow that I avoid moving the seat back and forth".

Actually, IMO, only the car at Deer Park is a fact.

I dont believe IM answered that. I believe it was a poster who also owned an 04 GTO. He was asked about the key fob and its capabilities.

Thank you for pointing that out, Mom (that sounded funny so I'm leaving it in).

Just re-read and yes, even though its a FAQ sheet, the answer is from somneone who owns a GTO "like Robs"

UGH, is it any wonder there is mass confusion and misunderstanding surrounding this case?

I hate to share bad information. My apologies to all. I'll delete my post now.
