Money and wallet were found around 4 pm on 6/14.
Phone was found about a week later.

I would assume (silly me) that the rest of the garage was ripped to shreds when IM or her family was searching for more clues or other items.

Remember, we obviously have been lied to already. Maybe there is a note in there. What about the lunch pail and tools? I am sure thats the next thing to be "discovered"

And where the heck are the car keys?? If he was voluntarily leaving for good, why take the keys with him? Why not just leave them in the car? Or leave the car open and toss them somewhere.
And by the way, if he turned the phone off at 2:45, why didnt it ping for an hour?

The $300 is huge to me. If he was leaving voluntarily, he would take it...anyone would... again, it comes in handy, and cannot be traced like credit cards. Even if "he was done and walked away", he still would have taken the cash, it was the whole reason he went to the scrap yard to begin with!! I suppose?

So, either its a suicide, or foul play somewhere. Or he got "spooked" or threatened after leaving the yard, or witnessed something.

Maybe he got pulled over by thugs after leaving the scrap yard (hand in the cookie jar?) , they scared the daylights out of him with their warnings to stop stealing, he was so frightened for him and his family that he runs home, emptys everything out of his pockets, leaving even the money (knowing it was gotten with stolen scrap) heads off the train station and dissappears into the night.
Maybe, just maybe, as I previously mentioned, this was just another day-in-the-life-of-RM until he got to that scrap yard.

I would like to know if he usually kept photos of his children in the wallet and, of course, if they are still in the wallet.

Okay, let's say he left voluntarily and he went home and changed clothes in the garage. He would be in a hurry to get out of there before IM gets home. So, maybe he emptied his pockets, changed clothes and then was putting things back in his pockets and picks up the cell phone first.....thinks, don't need that anymore, and tosses it in a drawer. Maybe he paused to think, reminisce, say goodbye to his life....then, jumped in his car and took off. It would be possible to completely forget the wallet and cash in that scenario.

One thing that bugs me is that IM says he didn't have his wallet all day. That is on the FAQ from the beginning. So, was it in the garage all day and she knew it was there? Maybe that's not true either....maybe he had it all day and that's how he got the transaction at Arrow to go through.

whats to stop them from registering as a busybody??? (ahem I mean concerned citizen???) lol

Nothing I suppose... however IIRC then they would be unable to use anything they found. Anybody correct me if I am wrong...

I was responding to the collecting ip addresses comment. LE has been known to read here at WS.

So IM knew that LE had the phone, but she wanted the public to think something else. Does that mean then IM thinks there is a perp, or that LE thinks there could be a perp??

LE probably wanted to use whatever investigative resources they had at their disposal and monitoring the phone to see if someone called or texted, thinking RM still had his phone, would be one of them, i would think.

And, maybe, LE has released this new information because they no longer consider it a missing person's case. Or, heck, they could have released it weeks ago but the admins on FB wouldn't let IM release it.

Maybe he owed his wife $300 for something? Or had bought something for that amount that she did not approve of?

I posted this info (regarding him returning home) over a month ago and it was confirmed by NCNY (who unfortunately has stopped posting). In my opinion, time and effort in the search was wasted due to not releasing this information. The focus should have been on the path from the house to the train station for the time immediately following his departure from the house.

Yes. I clearly remember you posting about him returning home.
Weeks have gone by (many). If you had to speculate...
What do you think?

My head is spinning.

So let's assume he did not run into foul play.

The $300. Selling the copper right before running off and then not taking the money doesn't really make sense.

Here are some things I came up with;

It would be good to know if he was selling the copper for just himself or if he and the guys at work took turns selling it and shared the proceeds.

Perhaps, as someone suggested, there was something specific the family had to pay for with that money (maybe a bill or something for one of the kids) And he left it on purpose. It would be interesting to know if the money was left in plain sight.

Which leads me to another question that I really hate to ask. Did he have life insurance and were there money problems? i realize it is an intrusive question but it would at least point to a motive.

What I know get is why everyone thinks the money is RM saying something to his wife... in this case if he was leaving, and basically abandoning his family, why do you think he would care about paying back a debt? Morals went out with abandoning kids.. not that that is what I think he did at all...

The faq on FB says the money was left in a drawer...and LE only found it after the neighbors sec cam was viewed and then LE searched the garage finding the phone in another drawer ...so it was there a week before they found it
