Thanks! Yes, here's the Question - was the trip to Italy going to be by plane or ship?

I think by boat it would take longer, RM has to work unless his job there in Brooklyn has been finished.

Someone here on Thread 1, posted his jobsite and it looks beautiful inside.

Wonder how much an airline ticket to Italy is???? Would $300.00 cover it?

The Airlines have gone way up. I think that is how much it costs to go to Disney, In FLA.

From this link

http://www.cheapflights.com/flights-to-italy/new-york/

The cheapest looks to be a round trip from New York to Venice
for $695.00 including taxes, with Turkish Airlines and that date would be the 19th of November, 2013.
I would think that this fare could be off season.
With RM being missing in June, I would think if he had plans to fly to Italy in that month, it might be considerably more money, and possibly being "in season".

So personally, I don't think 300 dollars would cover one way.
In My Opinion Only.

I don't know how to check specials, etc. on past flights. Maybe it was partial payment on an airline ticket

I wish LE would say something. If this is not a crime, then I am not sure it is any of my business why RM is gone. JMO

OK, so for 2 1/2 months RM has just been initials to me. It looks like we are going to find out who he really is. Seriously, I'm getting emotional. I just read he was a simple guy who loved to work with his hands. And tears came to my eyes. I'm such a woos.

$300 would not cover dinner at the airport food court! Lol
A one way ticket to italy in june/july is at least $700 with a random airline and at least one stop. (I actually had to buy one!)

I am used to MAC flights, and the one time I flew out of Frankfurt on Lufthansa was way back in 1979 for a month to come back stateside, otherwise all my trips were Military Airlift Command, other than the boat to Germany in the early 60's as that was a standard way to get there for the military, then flights occurred.

Holy wow! According to the "new" FB page, the Italy trip was booked on June 14th.....

the web is alive... with the sound of rumors...

  • #775
maybe the $300 was what it cost to cancel the ticket? if tickets were bought - and he was adamant that he didn't want to go - maybe cancellation fee for his ticket?

You may be on to something.

As if I don't spend enough time reading here, now the new FB page? LOL At least we'll get some insight from people that know Rob. Who knows? That sight may get very popular without restrictions on sleuthing Ida.

on the new facebook page - *bill* stated that the trip was booked on the day he went missing. maybe that's what pushed him over the edge - the final arguement being about how much it would cost to cancel......
