This occurred to me too. Early in the investigation the Long island fire arms or something like that club or whatever posted his missing persons info. Maybe he was a member? And if he was a member I would think he has a firearm of some sort, no?

That's how I found WS, through Long Island Firearms. Hmmmmmm.....thinking.

Funny I read there!
Its a very amusing thread to say the least!

and NCNY said he was trained in martial arts...he never seemed to me to be a guy that was scared....and if he was dealing with dark people he NEVER would have come home to risk a confrontation there. I think he drove by saw IDA was gone ran in changed clothes or whatever he was after and took off like the wind to parts unknown

I wonder when IM saw the video of RM looking scared and worried?
IMOO.

And by the way, unless he was pacing and/or fidgety, I think its a bit hard to see someone's actual facial expression for a surv. cam.....can anyone confirm or argue that? It may not be IM lying, it is possible that because she believes one theory, her head is pointing everything in that direction. JMO :maddening:

I tried to find the source of the "club found under the front seat" of the car but could not.

Am I losing my mind or do others remember that the club was actually in the car when it was found, just not engaged?

:drumroll:...nope! I clearly remember the club being in the car when found.

The way a wife would? She's burning a hole on that video with her eyes while they probably barely looked up from the counter at him. I don't think they'd pick up on his disposition the way Ida would.

Sorry I think she is painting us a picture! Trying to get us to see what she wants us to see...JMO

I think Money was very important! this was the reason he was at the scrap yard!

Then why leave the money YOU JUST GOT in the drawer? :doorhide:

I do not think they could own a gun as I see it she has a record correct? they can not have a firearm in the house.... this I know!

I have a feeling the money in the drawer was to divvy up with the guys for the scrap he sold..... JMO

But could they have an illegal firearm in the house?

I'm thinking he may also have looked scared and worried because he was about to embark on the most ballsy thing he ever did in his life (following the leave-on-his-own theory) and his heart was breaking for his kids.

Sheesh if I was about to leave my kids and never see them again, I would look like a complete mess in a video. It brought tears to even type that.

Agreed!! But WHY WHY WHY go to the scrap yard?? If it's the most ballsy thing you ever did, why go there? Only to not care about the money you got there and leave it behind? Doesnt make sense to me.

For that matter, why even go to work??

SOMEBODY STAGED SOMETHING!!!!!!!!! :bang:

It depends on the type and location of cameras.
Most of them are grainy and too far (ceiling or wall mount) to capture
Facial expression.

I don't know. I think maybe because the money didn't belong to him, it belonged to the apprentices. He was doing his last good deed before he shoved off?

Like I said, every theory I can think of has a hole in it.

Of course but we will never hear that from Ida.

You think they would risk legal ramifications of owning illegal firearm??
Hmm i dont know.

Something happened at home to make him leave right away.

He came in left his things like a normal day what happened?
what was not normal????

IDA was not home!!!!!!!!!! Red Flag!!!! She was usualy home!!!
Maybe kids were not home either and they usually were!
REd FLAG!

Did he think someone was coming to off him?
What if he thought someone (insert name) would do something like that? Hire someone (it does happen)
This would make perfect sense for him to vanish and not contact her or anyone and leave the kids behind.

Just a thought guys

Yes but I was picturing what I would see if Mr A were his normal self vs. worried and scared. If RM were a personable type who would maybe smile and tell a joke or 2, and what IM saw in the video was not so much as a smile, it could be construed as worried and/or scared.

I agree though that we are hearing her interpretation which may be colored by the movie in her head of what happened to him. But she knows him best.

Hmm i dont know.

ANYONE that is a convicted felon can not have a gun in the home nor be found with one. they would be arrested.

Have we ever discussed the possibility that if this scenario is the correct one that maybe he had a gun and maybe he went home to get it? If he felt the family was in danger...past experiences could have dictated this...and now he feels like he is being followed....from the scrap yard

I've been following this case when I can but haven't been posting. But just today I wondered if he might have had a gun. I found a 2010 list of Suffolk County people with pistol permits online, and there is one R. Mayer. No address given. There are several Robert Mayers too, with various middle initials. So maybe one of these men is RM, and he went home to get his gun?

I have to wonder, though. Wouldn't LE have looked at the Arrow tape and also thought he looked scared if he did? Maybe saying publicly that they see no evidence of foul play is their own kind of misdirection. Because maybe they see it and want to lull the bad guys into believing they don't.

Still, what I don't get is the discrepancy between IM's statements of "See, Rob, you are important" and "Come home, I/we'll keep you safe." To me, the only way those two messages co-exist, along with his being called "endangered," is if RM suffers from panic attacks or depressive illness of any kind.
