It wouldn't matter if it was broken, IMO. I'm guessing he had some manual means of fastening it if he used it regularly for his lunch pail and/or tools.

I do not think he left anything at all in the car! (EVER)

Do you think that the water bottles were somebody else's?
I wonder if DNA was checked on those bottles that were on the front seat. And I wonder if they were on the passenger's seat or driver's seat. And were the bottles empty or had water in them? I don't know if the article meant being empty only about the trunk, or if it was also meaning that the water bottles were empty
as well?
IMOO.

"His car—which Ida says he “loved”—was discovered the next day abandoned in the Long Island Rail Road’s Deer Park station parking lot. Its keys were missing, the front seat was moved forward closer to the steering wheel than he’d have it, and the trunk, where Mayer typically would keep his tools, lunchbox and water bottles, was empty; the latter found on the front seat."

Thanks. I also changed my wording in my original post because I wasn't sure if those bottles were empty or full....regardless, you think it's his water bottle, empty or full.

If RM was last seen in his house, was the house searched with cadaver dogs?

There was a breaking news on Elaina Steinfurth's case. They found a body in a garage of the house where she was last seen after 3 months search!

I wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it wasn't fathers day and company was NOT coming would he have been reported missing when he was or not till Monday when he didn't arrive to work?

Just a thought!

IM reported him missing that night. Regardless, why would she wait wait until monday? I fail to see the point.

I didn't think you would!

I cant understand why she reported him missing that night actually!

It is possible if they were arguing that if there was no company coming over that weekend, maybe she would have waited until Monday, incase he would have come home that weekend, but with the company coming over, the company would find it odd that he wasn't there....

If he sticks to a regular schedule, and it's unusual for him to not be home by 4pm, why wouldn't she report him missing that night?

See the problem is U and I are seeing different pictures!
Robert is gone!
But are we getting correct info Im not so sure!

I just have a different theory!
hey I could very well be wrong but then again I might be right!

None of us know sheet but we do sit around and discuss! Nothing wrong with that.

Maybe his coworkers didn't question him not being at work Monday because what if he either quit or was fired Friday? Not that we've heard from any coworkers though

hey vedder...
how's eddie?

Did the cops tell her hey give him 24 hrs? See if he comes home?

I also thought her calling LE was the reason he remained missing!

IIRC, he didn't have many co-workers on the job site. No apprentice. maybe people from other trades.
