IM and the family are considered victims.

Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civl and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE. Additionally, sleuthing family members that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

I truly appreciate that. BBM.
Most comments have been respectful all around.
Many of us are biting our tongues and sitting on our hands.
There is much public info out there that cannot be posted.
So, we avoid it as much as possible.
I believe we all want to find out what happened to Rob, if he's safe or otherwise. Closure and answers are tough, but necessary. :twocents:

If that is where he always put his wallet...then i dont think it is THAT farfetched that by 6 pm after not being able to reach him for hours she would look to see if his wallet was there.

Especially when it was said that the wallet was there that morning..or did that part change?? I don't know fact from fiction anymore.
Was the wallet left there that morning, and IM checked for it in the evening, or it wasn't known that it was there until she found it that evening?

IMOO.

and i read that the tooth fairy put it in the garage drawer.

it is just soooooo hard to keep the facts straight here.
oh wait
maybe i dreamed it...
yea that might be the case.

the message b 4 this one says HIDE in the drawer?
was the phone or money UNDER stuff in the drawer and hidden?

It is really weird that a wife is rummaging thru drawers in the garage
when the hubby hasnt come home. Yes, u WOULD be calling the cell phone repeatedly.

and then maybe hit the FIND THE PHONE button on everyone's iphone that they have so you can see where the phone is ...literally.
(it is a huge help when you dont know where your phone is)

What wife is going to rummage thru a garage drawer for anything when its only 4 pm or even 6pm...????

makes no sense.

It makes sense if she was panicking at that time for a reason.

Bottom line is, if he didn't want these items found, he could have ditched them anywhere from 4:30 am until 2:40pm. Anywhere from Brooklyn to Commack. So I don't buy it that he was hiding these. That's just silly. He wanted them found, or for some reason wanted them safe if he was planing on returning.

What I meant by Hide was that the items were not in plain sight. Hidden from sight.
IMOO.

If that were true, wouldn't the case be closed? He would no longer be considered missing if he were in touch with the family.

not if they didn't tell IDA!

great point that the stuff could have been ditched anywhere anytime during the day

but we don't know if HE wanted them found

maybe SOMEONE wanted them found.
(drum roll please)

Vedder I have been coming here for a longgggggg time and I know about the victims but what am seeing here is more concern for his wife then the man that's missing why?????
why cant we discuss what we think might have happened here?

I have seen no bashing no name calling but I do believe something happened between these two ppl that made him leave.

We cant say this we cant say that:banghead:

No one is here to crucify anyone its a discussion!

JMVOHO

You asked why she's a victim by WS standards. I didn't say you were crucifying and I don't make the rules. Where did I say you can't discuss what you think happened? And yes, I do have concern for the wife of a missing man as well as the man himself.

I'm just not hopping on the IM staged the scene, hid his stuff, took his stuff out of the car and put it in the garage, or made him leave bandwagon.

And the thing is, those items could have been left in the car, but they weren't found in the car. Those items were found at home. There was a reason those items were not with the bright red car...

I have to agree with Born2succeed on the attitude regarding suicide. Having a lot of mental illness in my family, unfortunately, I have seen this peace. Additionally, once one has decided on this, I don't think one would drive home and return the wallet, phone and $300, move car to the station, etc. He could have ditched his stuff in the trash and parked at Walmart if that was the deal. Additionally, most of the suicides on WS are out of the way, when you find the vehicle, you find the MP.

I also don't see a big strong union guy who made it to work that day suddenly falling apart because he fought with wife on the phone and they had money troubles. Seems to me he was mighty strong when every thing was falling apart in the past, why would he fall apart now?

Agree about suicide! I think he went into witness protection - explains the one last drive past his house, even stopping and dropping things off.

Maybe explains wanting to take one last vacation, to Italy, with wife before leaving, but couldn't do it. I think the remark about keeping him safe is consistent.

I for one appreciate your sense of humor.
As a fellow New Yawker, I get it.
I like your offbeat sense of humor.
Truth is, there are very few real facts.
So many inconsistencies etc.
According to SCPD there is no report filed on their press page.
THAT, really makes me wonder.................

And who knows how much they contaminated the car before LE got there to process. I am not implying they did it purposely, but just the nature of them going through the car, looking for clues, a note, his phone, etc.....

Good point Jerry. I commented about the car being found previously, several times. What is the procedure? IDK.

Let's say friends found it. What did they do next? Call IM? Call LE?
We don't know. What happened next? Did IM have a key?

Did they look inside? We don't know do we?

But its possible?
along with 100 other theories out there!
This stuff does happen.

He is out there somewhere alive or dead!
Only a few ppl know what happened and His wife is a good place to start.

Do I want to think she had something to do with this no but marriages end every day and they usually do not end WELL. so till we can rule some things out here we sit....:truce:

6,000 square feet and had two extensions put on for $75,000
in the last year. or so.

Unless the family member/friend who located the car was LE and familiar with protocol. In that case, that person would call local LE immediately.

On the surface, any reasonable person who found the car would call IM first. And I think she would run over there immediately with the key once they told her it was locked. Then I am sure they opened it and went through it looking for a note, keys, or nothing else. I don't think this is suspicious at all, it's a very plausible sequence if events.....I think anyone would have done the same.

Do we know exactly what happened? Hardly. But I would like to think it was done innocently.
