a few looked hmmmm.......not so staged-I think thats the phrase I want---one is on the beach, one had I think the Brooklyn Bridge in the background-might be a work picture.
They seemed more casual than the family portrait and the casino pic with Ida.

They are photos released by IM of her husband...ofcourse he is going to look good. How many pictures do you have of Mr. C when he is hung over? Lol.

there is a lot of unsubstantiated yet possible relevant information being brought forth today.... why not have it all on a dedicated thread?

C'est possible?
thank you

Je ne sais pas!
Maybe something to ask a mod.

I'd have to say no. We tend to go off on a tangent here often and another area that would most likely become a gossip fest isn't a good one to me. I'll run it by admin.

I noticed in the background of the missing poster just posted..there are slot machines. Any gambling issues? havent heard that tossed around.

My guess is that those pics were taken on a cruise ship. Most of the large cruise ships have slot parlor style casinos. Supposedly, the Mayers went on a lot of cruises in the past.

IMO, RM would not have left the $300. hidden in a drawer if he had a gambling problem. More likely a person without a gambling problem will hide their money from someone who has a gambling problem. IMO, I don't think either one of the Mayers have a gambling problem. Just my 2 cents . .

Now this cracks me up. Almost every picture my sister posts of BIL is of him snoring or looking not so good!

I've never seen it so quiet here. I was at work...did I miss something?

No, you didn't miss anything. I think we are running out of things to rehash on this case. We're at a standstill. At this point, I think he ran off or foul play was his fate. I'm stil scratching my head on why he left his wallet behind. Why change one's identity? Seems like he headed towards Montauk, if he took the bike.

Why?

Our verified insider said he was not a gambler.

Our verified insider hinted that there was a drug problem.

Why embrace the thing he claimed weren't the case and discard the thing that he said was?

Hmmm.., loan shark. Now that's something I hadn't thought of. That is quite possible. As I've said many times I don't see them meeting their household budget on his salary alone.

However, I would think that IM would know about the loan shark. Surely she isn't buying lobsters oblivious to their financial status.

Well it would be interesting to see who paid the bills or who handled the accounts. I do know many ppl live way above their means and if he needed fast cash I can see a loan shark

Ok lets start back at the beginning!
Now..... this family man that never spent a night away from home and lived for his kids and loved his car and everyone says hes a nice guy vanishes....

If he just took off don't u all think he would have done things differently.
He would have called someone...
He would have told her was leaving before he left!

If he just took off and no call no letter this says he didn't care for his family at all and that's just not the picture that has been painted here. If he had issues with his wife he would have told his mom or his sis a friend don't u agree. You just don't vanish...

Even f there was a GF! He would have called someone! JMO

BBM

He may have voiced this a few times to her. Perhaps, she didn't take him seriously. We do not know how it went between them.

Im not buying the Drug addiction theory!
A bookie yes! A loan shark yes!

Sorry I think I have only seen one or 2 posts from the verified poster I'd still like to hear from someone on Roberts side of the family if he had a drug problem wouldn't ppl notice? Work ? If it was serious he mus have looked bad maybe missed work? Erratic behavior? Yes no?

Ok so is mystery guy a dealer?
The selling scrap for drugs is believable.

Did he owe the guy alot of money maybe?

Your theory would work except for one fact. The car seat being pulled forward for a shorter driver. I am confused as to why no information was released about the fingerprints in the car and on the water bottle on the front seat. I still think we are missing some information that would paint a better picture. People who have help within the police force can get things brushed under the carpet and information can be omitted very easily. We have people calling for information and, instead of getting information, they are being threatened with questioning. Someone is connected to someone in law enforcement and the details of this case are heavily guarded. :twocents:

BBM - I don't think this info would be released to the general public in an ongoing investigation. Even if the detectives release it to the family, it shouldn't be made public if anyone's fingerprints (other than RM's) were found.

Suicide?

To me that's last on my list!
I cant say why.
Just a feeling!

I don't see suicide as the answer too. Why go to the scrap yard and then hide stuff in drawers? It's last on my list too.

I could be way off base, but my sense is that IM handled the finances. It is just a feeling on my part—no fact.

Then why leave the $300. in a drawer in the garage? Maybe he owed so much, there was a deadline on the huge sum, so he ran for his life? Aren't huge drug debts usually what small time dealers would be in trouble for? Users usually buy a little at a time, when needed, so I thought.

FYI...
This is from an unofficial internet source but...
"Oxycodone is a drug that is widely available on the black market and the price of it varies. On average, it is thought that the cost of 5mg of oxycodone is between $10 and $25, depending on where it is sourced."

HOWEVER, the only bone of contention that we know of is the mystery man that RM lied about communicating with to IM in the past.

It is likely to me that this was related to a possible addiction of some sort as hinted to by our verified insider. I can't think of any other reason a husband would have to keep secret his communications with a male friend from his wife (besides a bookie, but I believe we were told he was not a gambler).

So how does a possible addiction play into this? Was he possibly going through withdrawal? Is depression involved in withdrawal? I have no knowledge of this at all.

Again, everybody looks at a sentence differently. The way that the verified insider worded the comment about the texting, I took it that when IM approached that person, that person Lied about being in communication with RM. Now, it is possible that RM lied, but when the pronouns HIM and HE were used in that sentence, it could be either one...Robert OR the friend. So if it wasn't Robert that lied, maybe the friend misunderstood about texting and communicating, meaning texting isn't talking per say, and when LE looked at the phone and the texts, then IM went to that person and asked him about his conversations with RM. Otherwise, we are now left with, if it was RM, then IM and RM had a conversation about this individual BEFORE RM left. So we really don't know the context of how the verified insider meant what was posted, unless that verified insider comes back on and posts Exactly who IM talked to, and if it wasn't Robert, then the insider could say it wasn't Robert.
IMOO.

A better source:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Prescription drug abuse, now the fastest-growing drug problem in the country, has created a ballooning street market for highly-addictive pain relief, anxiety and depression drugs.
Given the money involved, it's no wonder.

Here's a sampling of the street prices for a single tablet of some commonly trafficked drugs, compared to their retail prices:
--Oxycontin: $50 to $80 on the street, vs. $6 when sold legally
--Oxycodone: $12 to $40 on the street, vs. $6 retail
--Hydrocodone: $5 to $20 vs. $1.50
--Percocet: $10 to $15 vs. $6
--Vicodin: $5 to $25 vs. $1.50

Sorry folks, no Parking Lot thread for alternate theories. This is only allowed in very rare occurrences in very hot cases...

  • #460
Again, there are so many possibilities of what happened to RM and where he is...
Addiction is just one of them. I am going by the clue that the insider dropped.
