I agree, very odd! Maybe he was going to an area for something illegal or to do something illegal? Although, what about the bike???

I was reading a random website when researching phone pings, tracking phones, and illegal activity. While the website was informative, the thing that jumped RIGHT out at me was a comment from one of the readers of the article. The comment stated:

"Every one knows the FIRST thing you do when going to buy or sell drugs, is leave your cellphone home. It's drug dealing 101".

I read that about 3 months ago when I was researching this case, and i still can't get that out of my head. Combine that with RM stopping home to leave his phone and wallet, it fits very nicely.

I've thought about suicide - but I think his body would have been found by now.

I've thought about him running away - but if it was just to get away from IM, I think he would have made contact with his kids by now (or filed for divorce or something). I just think it's totally abnormal for somebody to just straight up disappear for 3 months with nothing. Think about how hard that would be for you to do!

UNLESS, you were in trouble and didn't want trouble knocking on your door OR you were on some drugs or something that made you just simply not care anymore.

I even think the "euphoria" of a new relationship would have worn off by now and thoughts of your kids and family would make you want to reach out.

So, basically, I keep running the gamut of theories and ending up back at square one.

Wonder why? I mean, I have no idea about drug dealing, so why would you leave your phone at home? So you can't be tracked? Identified? Disturbed?

I assume so you can't be tracked, but if you turn your phone off, it won't be tracked, right? Or in the case of an iPhone, just turn it on airplane mode? Would that work as well?

He could be at someone's house, somewhere remote and will not be found ever. I would rather that for him than suicide or being strung out in some crack house or that he got whacked and buried in the pine barrens.

Add to that, he didn't get a call or text on his cell phone from anyone like he was going to meet someone. And shut the phone off... Really odd.

Drib, there could have been 53 messages on that cell phone. We may never know because of the amount of information being withheld and omitted from what the media gets to see. He may have gotten fed up and turned the darn thing off. None of the details we have came from the police - it came from one source. That one source can feed you as little or as much as they want you to see. They could have had a big blowout argument on Friday morning during that 40 minute phone call. I do not get my lobster and oysters until I am going to cook the stuff. Did the phone go dead or did he hang up on her? Did he say I Love You or did the phone just drop out right after he said I Love you? Did he even say I Love You? Once I see inconsistencies, the source is no longer reliable. Not saying she did anything, because maybe, like us, she does not know what happened either, but we are missing information that the police have, and they are not talking because they're probably following the behavior after the fact - it tells all. They're holding the car, which means they have some evidence in or on the car.

IMO this would explain a loving father/husband/son leaving, to protect his family. And i believe its a combination of trouble/drugs.

Yesterday at my sons football game, one of the Dads was wearing an Arrow Scrap t shirt. I don't know if he worked there. i will find out this weekend. Would love to hear what he has to say.

I still think he went back home got his stuff and got out of dodge. Im betting he has a big duffle bag of money with him. This is why he went back to the garage. JMO

That big house with all those taxes. Yeah, somebody had a Tony Soprano Stash and took off with it. Hence the manhunt.:twocents:

And left his kids/mom for money?

Speaking of Tony Soprano, it's not too far fetched to think about those families being tied up with unions/teamsters.

A little research will tell you what "family" is relevant to Local 3.

I know that a lot of Amtrak's tracks are fenced, but are the LIRR tracks fenced?
If so, in he rural areas too? TIA

The money may have just been a tool for him to escape. He may have wanted out for a long time before he actually left. Also, if it was a stash, nobody is going to tell the police he took money (hidden assets money).

Because they are holding the car for processing really doesn't point in any one single direction. It really doesn't. It could be for any number of reasons already discussed. But I'll admit, I don't know the reason and it shouldn't be assumed it is due to foul play or otherwise. But it is intriguing.

Was the source reliable to begin with? IMO that has been a big part of the problem. LE chose, for whatever reason, not to comment thus far, other than they don't have evidence of foul play. But because of their lack of input, IM or rather the spouse of the person missing is destroyed yet she is searching for answers herself. And to carry on with her children also missing their dad. Of course accounts will change. Can anyone really account for what happened at 8:43 yesterday morning? 3:00 yesterday afternoon?

I challenge anyone who has lost someone to be....normal.....and realistic. I have seen little of that.

If someone's backyard is up against the tracks there is a fence. But other than that I'm not sure.

What rural areas? :-)

I guess you mean out east? I think no fences there but don't know. I never took the train that far east.

i live further out and have actually looked at the tracks as far as Riverhead, Manorville etc there are no fences in alot of areas except as mentioned a person's or businesses yard. fwiw

Yup, definitely not fenced in in most places. Unauthorized pedestrians are always getting hit.

And I don't think its that easy to be terminated from a union job. I believe its more of an involved process.

Mostly I agree but.....If they have verified proof he is stealing from them
I do believe its cause for immediate termination! I know they can fight it but they wont let him work! Just sayin!

Now no one really knows if this is work related but it most certainly could be.
And a serious enough matter to make him hide!

I totally agree and see it your way. I don't understand why he bothered to drop his stuff off and then drive off. It just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe he didn't drive off? Maybe someone knew of his plans to go to arrow and then followed him? Beats me!!

unless RM came home and some one else drove THE CAR. I think he came home to pick things and drop things off. Someone was perhaps in the garage or in the house (we have not spoken much of the actual house at all). And drove with Rob or drove him to where ever. I like the idea of another car at Deer Park Sta "holding" a spot for THE CAR. And driver and passenger part ways, take train, leave in the other car.

Im thinking the guy took off and is in trouble with LE.
I think this is why they have not released the car!
I believe its very possible something was found in the trunk of that car but they are saying it was empty!
All JMO

some one trying to get something out of the trunk may explain why it doesnt latch.
