NY - Sean "Diddy" Combs charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, Sept. 17, 2024

Cudi admits Cassie 'played him' and was 'living two different lives,' court hears

11m ago12:25

Cudi is now being cross-examined by Brian Steele, for the defence.

He asks about Cudi's relationship with Cassie and asks if he was confused when he discovered Cassie and Diddy had also been dating during his one-year relationship with her.

He says that's correct, and when asked if Cassie "played" him, he says yes. He agrees he had "no clue" Cassie had been seeing someone else.

When asked if Cassie was "smart, talented, outgoing" and has a "strong personality," Cudi answers, "Yes, yes, yes, yes."

Ok not a lawyer, but it seems like the defense is trying to do everything they can to say that Cassie had a say in the Diddy Freak Off situation.

basically they want the jury to dislike her, two timing, gold digger, all of that. Because if the jury doesn't like her, maybe they wont find her testimony credible. Just like the day on cross they had her read any and all texts that indicated she loved Combs or was into the freaky deaky stuff they engaged in.

I struggle with this because much of trafficking would appear complicit.. except with underlying threats and fears unknown to everyone else.

Which is the argument here and I’m glad I’m not deciding this

I think I read the trial is suppose to last about 8-10 weeks so still early into it. I'm so curious what big name celebrities will testify f any.
I believe the max is 8 weeks. From what I watched on CLR Bruce River's channel, usually federal trials wrap up earlier than the max time. But the time is allocated there so the court doesn't run out of time to hear the case. At least the judge is doing a good job at getting witnesses off the stand in the most timely fashion possible.

I’ve been catching the highlights most days. It’s not easy to listen to. I never liked Combs or his music, but had no idea he was so depraved behind closed doors. Money really does buy silence I guess, disgusting.

I don’t think he will walk away from this, but it’s still early. CV’s testimony was compelling, what she suffered horrific. But this case isn’t about that, is there something big still to be revealed? Or is the prosecution just adding one example of R&ST at a time, then pulling it together in a killer summation?

Anyone think the defense has bombshells?

A panelist on CT mentioned that forcing sex is considered trafficking. Im unsure if that is correct. Since Cassie didn’t resist it in the beginning, it’s going to be hard to differentiate between the two.

If the victims were so drugged up how would they know it was being forced? I doubt he said in advance what was going to take place. “I’m going to drug you up, have an arranged sex worker have his way with you for four days and I am going to watch and I am filming it”. I would run so fast and scream Help!

I’m inclined to think that the Feds have something coming just based on the extreme raids and determination to seize property. They didn’t take all of that digital evidence for nothing. Maybe there is a whole slew of things that we don’t know yet.

Pardon my ignorance but what is CT? Also, from what I read on HT cases in the past, not only the forced sex part can prove one aspect of it, but I think you can try to establish patterns based of financial records. All they have to do is call up the major credit card providers and get them to provide Diddy's credit card records. However if Diddy uses crypto it can be arguably easier as LEOs have tools to analyze the Blockchain.

Gross!! Makes me question what may have occurred in his childhood. Perhaps that’s where the perversion began.

His mother was a drug addict, alcoholic and had her own version of Freak-Offs in the home when he was present (as a child). His father was MIA.

History repeating itself. The article is upthread but I will see if I can find it again.

People need to be trauma informed to understand abuse, and why Cassie did not just "leave".

A lot like that movie with Tina Turner, "What Love Has to do With It". Tina finally escaped from Ike Turner, barefoot and without a dime. He kept her isolated, broke, and abused.

Yeah, theres a whole lot of @SHE could have left” floating around and its maddening to me.

She knew if she really “left”, he would find het. I mean, he allegedly blew up Cudi’s car. She knew how much power he had and how dangerous he was.

The most dangerous time is when the abused leaves the abuser. But for Diddy, Cassie was probably getting too old for him anyways.

Unfortunately, all you need to see is the video from the hotel. According to everyone, Cassie was trying to leave a "freak off" - and he ran down the hall in a towel and beat her senseless. Then, he dragged her back to the room by her hair.
What is so frightening is that this is an incident we have seen - how many others were there we haven't seen? For anyone who asks why didn't she just leave, I refer them to that video as an example of what happens when she (or anyone else for that matter) tries to leave.

This man is a manipulative, violent monster.
