I don't get what Cassie's husband could be asked by the defense to testify about? He wasn't in her relationship with Combs and the events that happened between Combs and Cassie did not include him. Witness to what?
He may have not been around for the events that happened between Combs and Cassie but even if she is stronger and braver and has come out on the other side of the abuse, its always there. Right below the service. You may learn coping skills but that abuse never goes away. And I would bet the farm her husband has witnessed it rear its ugly head more than once. So yes he could testify on how it has affected her. JMO

This story may contain accounts and descriptions of actual or alleged events that some readers may find disturbing.

This is day two in the trial of Sean Combs after the jury was seated.

Sean Combs trial begins

Opening arguments got underway Monday in the highly anticipated trial of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who has been accused of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy as part of a blockbuster federal indictment originally filed in September 2024. He later faced two additional superseding indictments. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

Combs is accused of being the ringleader of an alleged enterprise that "abused, threatened and coerced women" into prolonged, drug-fueled sexual orgies with male prostitutes, which he called "freak offs," and then threatened them into silence. Combs has said that all of the sex was consensual and that while his relationships sometimes involved domestic violence, he wasn't engaged in trafficking. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs was simply part of the swinger lifestyle and that he "vehemently denies the accusations made by the SDNY" and "looks forward to his day in court."

“Love of baby oil is not a federal crime.”

One of the stupidest defense lines ever! It actually made me laugh, even though this whole case is sordid.

Can you imagine being his kids listening to all this testimony? Most kids pretend their parents don’t have sex. How will they ever look at him again?!

I wonder if the kids think the freak offs are normal, that he has been set-up or are they in denial.

It must be important enough to him to have the kids there, that he is ok with letting them see this. Normal people would want their children to stay home so that they don’t see horrible things of this nature.

Who knows what they have seen over the years. Has the article about PD being exposed to this lifestyle at a young age been posted? I can’t remember if I read it here. lol But his mother was having freak offs fueled by drugs and alcohol when he was younger.

Imagine growing up in an environment, where this behavior is normalized. I thought Diddy would be embarrassed by this public display of excess, abuse, violence, and distasteful behavior.

Apparently, his family supports him. His children, his mother, have all been to the trial. I don't understand the culture, apparently SC has never been married, but has seven children by different women. Two women were pregnant by him at the same time.

The kids may end up Sueing his estate as well. Might be the only way they get any off it.

Man who claims to be Diddy sex slave spoke to us from prison. He says concern for Cassie and himself led him to secretly video one of their sessions -- and that Diddy had him sign an NDA in exchange for millions.

I expect cross-examination to be brutal. I hope Cassie has been well-prepared (rehearsed) and can hold her own against victim-shaming.

Young 🤬🤬🤬🤬's longtime lawyer Brian Steel is voicing objections during Cassie's testimony in Diddy's trial, which indicates he'll be the attorney cross-examining her.Defense wants witnesses prohibited from communicating with their lawyers during cross. Prosecutors oppose.

When this case hit the news I was reading Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. This is a remarkable true story of a slave that ran away to freedom.

I found it interesting that when she described Luke, a slave of this disabled man who was horribly cruel. He endured beatings, being tied to the man's bed and made to do freak behaviors to him. I paraphrase but I found it interesting that this language is still used today. Freak is not a word I would use.

Also I have heard black folks today ask "Where do you stay?" . I, being white would ask "Where do you live?". I suppose they use stay because at any time a slave could be sold.

There were more but those 2 come to mind.

Imo this relates to P Diddy because it is all about power. Black men in slavery had no power and to a certain degree still do not. Sean Combs' money gave him power. I noted that his nickname for Cassie was CC (Cassie Combs). He didn't marry her but he claimed her and basically made her his slave.

I have long suspected Combs was introduced to the idea of freak offs by his mother. In the documentary I watched his childhood was covered. There was a childhood friend who went into detail about Combs' relationship with his mother, what his childhood home was like and their dynamic after his father was killed.

So if he grew up thinking certain things were normal, it would stand to reason his children might as well.

Now, amid the second day of Cassie Ventura's direct testimony in US v. Sean Combs, here is an exhibit from the trial: the LA hotel security email

The jury is now seeing sexually explicit images taken from some of the “Freak Off” videos.

One female juror let out a deep breath and rested her hand on her chest as an image was placed on the monitor before her.

A male juror looked at the screen at one of the images and his eyes appeared to move away quickly. A different male juror wrote on his notepad.

The sexually explicit images being shown in court now are out of view for the public inside the courtroom.

Prosecutors handed binders to the judge and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers with more than half a dozen still images taken from “Freak Off” videos.

The photos were then shown on screens before Cassie Ventura, who is currently testifying, and the jury. The images were not shown on the monitors at the lawyers’ tables to avoid any members of the public or press from being able to view them.

When one of the images of an escort was referenced, Combs leaned across one of his lawyers to get a better look at the images in the binder.
