Prosecution and defense want jury to continue deliberating
Both the prosecution and defense want the judge to push the jury to continue deliberating.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo said the defense would like the judge to bring out the jury to instruct them to continue deliberating rather than sending them a note. They are going to work on the wording of that instruction

Why would the defence want the jury to deliberate more on that one count they can’t agree on? Because wouldn’t that mean he can’t go to jail for that specific count as they can’t send someone to jail when not found guilty?

Count 1: Racketeering conspiracy
The government charged Combs with violating the racketeer influenced and corrupt organizations conspiracy act by conspiring with a “criminal enterprise” to carry out a pattern of illegal behavior.

Prosecutors accused Combs of running a criminal enterprise, comprised of his staff and associates, to commit crimes including sex trafficking, kidnapping, forced labor, bribery, arson, and obstruction of justice since at least 2008.

This was done, according to the government, so Combs could abuse, threaten and coerce women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desire while also protecting his reputation by concealing his behavior.

RICO laws were created in 1970 to prosecute people involved in organized crime, such as Mafia members.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison – the most severe punishment out of any of the charges.
Explaining the charges against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Because count I is the most serious of all the charges IMO. The RICO statute (conspiracy/racketeering)

That is the one Count the government would most like to see a guilty verdict on.

Each of the charges against Combs carries a potential prison sentence. He can be found guilty or not guilty of one, some or all the charges.

ETA I think the defense is banking on their client receiving Not Guilty verdict across the board.

I'm surprised they're this far along in their deliberations. I thought this one would go on for quite awhile.

Since the jury has come to a verdict on the 4 counts, but not on the most serious Count One, can we deduce that at least one of those four counts is a guilty verdict?
If they were all not guilty, I'd think Count one would be too.

I completely would vote for the "Racketeering" charge. It is obvious he paid his employees to conspire in illegal activities. They carried illegal drugs for him, they were his "baby oil" mules. I forgot the name of his former assistant, who testified, Mia, everything she testified to, supports the Racketeering charge.

Judge intends to tell the jury “I ask that you keep deliberating” and then read some portions about deliberations from his instructions.

so, if they don't agree on the Racketeering charge, all of the other ones count? This wouldn't be a mistrial?

Why does Sean Combs think he needs to have an "entourage" of attorneys? Eight? Isn't one smart enough?

I think I read that if they’re deadlocked, he can be retried?!

Yeah, he almost has enough for a Freak-off.

Guilty of real crimes and guilty of shockingly poor tastes!

It’s hard to imagine anyone on this jury not being able to agree to guilty on all charges!! Ugh. Let’s hope they get it right…. 🤞🏻

He must have been found guilty on the four charges or the RICO wouldn’t even be being discussed.

Is this statement factual??

I agree - there’s gotta be a guilty in there because otherwise this would be a not guilty also

Anyone watch “Kadisha” on TikTok (which I only use for finding info on stuff like this)? She’s done an amazing job of covering this trial!

I haven't been following this very closely but I did hear about a letter from the jury about one juror who wasn't following rules. Whatever happened about that? I think it happened Monday?

I haven’t seen any more about that juror. The note asked the judge to talk to him, so perhaps it got straightened out.
