GUILTY NY - Suspicious device found near President Bill Clinton and Hillary’s Home, Chappaqua, Oct 2018

CNN is reporting some devices were delivered by courier.
Aha. Makes sense. Many packages are delivered via courier in NYC (and other large cities, I'm sure).

Wonder why it had stamps then? I'll have to go back and look at the photo - were the stamps special, convey a message?

I'm guessing the courier was on security video at some point.

My guess is that these devices will end up being intert.

They were meant to look like real bombs, and their intent was obviously fear (at the very least).

You do something like this, you deserve to spend the rest of your life in prison, whether these bombs were real or not.

Answering my own question. The stamps on the CNN package - that was hand-delivered and didn't need stamps - have a picture of an American flag.

Exactly. And one of his supporters still took it upon himself to shoot a Republican congressman.

Bernie didn’t encourage violence against his detractors. Heeeuuuuge difference, imo.

And that’s the last thing I’ll say about that particular incident.

The climate of advocating, minimizing and excusing hate and violence towards targeted groups is the larger issue at play, tbh.

From the top down.

In advance, I'll say I'll miss this discussion when the thread is shut down due to political jabs.

Come on, guys.

My hunch is the same.

Whether they are live bombs or not, they are a threat.

Interesting they were not sent through the mail, as I think using the U.S. mail to commit a crime escalates the charges.

Where is the middle path?

The good thing is that these guys are always caught.

It’s simply a matter of time.

Doesn't have to be a middle path at all.

Focus on the crime and solving the crime.

It can be done.

Okay. Occam's Razor then. First, look to the obvious culprits, those opposed to the victims' political orientation.

"At a press conference this afternoon, during which New York’s mayor, governor and commissioner of police spoke, the device at CNN was confirmed as a live functional explosive device containing a suspicious white powder."

One source told Fox News that all the packages in question had a return address affiliated with that location. The package discovered at Wasserman Schultz's office, according to another law enforcement source, was originally sent to ex-Attorney General Eric Holder under the wrong address -- and then returned to Wasserman Schultz' office due to the return label.

Suspicious package found at Clintons' home, police say

Some of the scares turned out to be false alarms.

In San Diego, the building housing the offices of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and the San Diego Union-Tribune was evacuated due to a suspicious package. But police later said the package was merely "abandoned property," and a Harris spokeswoman said the "suspicious packages" were not addressed to the senator or their office. New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo also announced at a press conference that a "device" was sent to his Manhattan office. But it was later reported the device was a hoax, and unrelated.

That’s way too broad a starting point unfortunately.

They have a ton to work with here though, and I think we’ll have a quick resolution.

From the shipping trail, bomb components, potential physical evidence, and probably lots of other things, they’ll have no shortage of angles to pursue.

This series of events can be seen as another attempt at voter suppression. Fear keeps voters home.

They will lead to the same place. After, however, the midterms .
