Sheriff's office looking for missing man in Ontario Co.

Deputies are searching for a missing man in Ontario County.

Theodore Smith was last seen at Cheap Charlie's Bar in Bloomfield on Thursday. Deputies say he last contacted his family around 9:30 p.m. when he was leaving the bar.

His father told investigators Smith was supposed to go to Rochester with his ex-girlfriend. But, when deputies checked the woman's home in Avon, he wasn't there.

Smith has also not reported to his job at SDC Contractors in Victor.

Smith was last seen wearing a Carhart vest, a blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt, ball cap an, work boots. Smith typically drives a blue 2004 Ford Explorer.

I thought that LE typically waited 24 hours before getting too worried about a missing adult. Maybe he's out having fun?

I think that LE will investigate quickly if there are suspicious circumstances. Perhaps this man had never missed a day of work without calling in sick. Perhaps there was a history of trouble with the ex-girlfriend.

Maybe he said something worrisome to the family member during that contact. It'd be nice if he went to work tomorrow.

So... when they went to check his girlfriend's house he wasn't there....it's odd the girlfriend didn't report him missing ...also no sightings of his truck

BLOOMFIELD, NY (WROC) - Deputies are searching for a missing man in Ontario County.

It was never clear to me whether she was expecting him or if he maybe mentioned to a family member that he had just planned to drop by and see her. It sounded like a bad combination to me - ex girlfriend on his mind and hanging out a bar. I'm worried that he'll be found as spring comes, hoping I'm wrong.
