Being that I live not far from where Thomas disappeared from, and have not seen any "real" updates, I thought I would pop on here. My heart wanted to believe there there was another way off that bridge unseen.

Here's a short video of Thomas's last known location on the Manhattan Bridge. Sorry for the shaky phone footage, but I think it gives a decent overview of what the pedestrian path is like on the bridge.

Being that I live not far from where Thomas disappeared from, and have a son close in age, I have been distressed about not seeing any "real" updates. After a google search really only yielded AI generated nonsense, I came on here to see if there was more since the last I had heard was him being on the bridge. My heart wanted to believe there there was another way off that bridge unseen. Thanks for posting your video even if it's not what my heart wanted. Prayers to his family

So sad. I was hoping we’d hear updates too, but nothing so far it seems. I hope he is found so his family can have closure.

I have heard nothing. IMO if there were to be searches it would be in the water and the water is frozen. I have a boy around the same age who has suffered in the past with suicidal thoughts and this case just hits close to home. praying for answers for the family. I would never be able to stop searching if my boy was lost

I've not seen any updates, so it's impossible to say what might be going on behind the scenes. They could have reached a tragic conclusion or are still seeking leads. I wish we knew.

If it's the worst outcome, I'm hoping that the family will be able to get closure soon.

The "Blizzard" (which honestly has not been that bad thus far) may delay anything we hear on this, schools are closed and whatnot. It's very low visibility though and the water is super icy. The east river is actually not a river, it's in between the long island channel and the ocean, so the current is terribly stronger than most rivers. The weather is definitely going to make that water much rougher. I don't want to be negative, but if any investigation of the water is done, it might not be for a few days unfortunately.

Has any new information come forward? I personally can't find anything.

I've not heard any news, sadly. I'm not sure how much searching of the river has been done since Thomas was traced to the bridge. I've not heard any reports of recovery efforts spotted. I honestly have no idea what kind of searching they will do in this kind of situation. They may just have to wait to see if something washes up once waters warm in the spring. I'll keep looking for news, anyway.

Yeah, I was walking along the East River the other day and this case was popping into my head. The current truly looks so unforgiving, erratic and swirling, it's sad to imagine what it could do to someone or how far it could carry them. I hope there's a chance of him being found, though. Very sad.

It really is terrifying. I'm not far from Hell Gate, and even though they've literally blown up rocks with dynamite to smooth the eddies, it looks like sudden death to me. I hope the family can get answers soon. It must be killing them to not know.
