Circumstances of Disappearance
Trevor was preparing for a transfer to Fort Riley in Kansas from Fort Drum (NY) where he lived and was separating from his wife. Trevor is a Specialist (E4) in the U.S. Army. He was last seen getting on a train in Syracuse. He never arrived at Fort Riley and his family and friends are extremely worried as this is out of his character and worried for his well being. Trevor left behind his drivers license, U.S. Military Identification Card and his cell phone. He had previously deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq and returned from his Iraq deployment earlier in the year, in May 2017.

No problem, I came across his case while doing the daily rounds. It’s only been a few hours since his profile has been removed, so maybe there will be an update soon, hopefully with a good outcome.

Firstly, thank you to @Knitty for helping me with this post! Secondly, there is some pretty exciting news about Trevor that has been posted on Missing: Trevor Nichols, Trevor's family's Facebook page, as well as Missing People in America's Facebook page (direct link to the reel: Missing Soldier Trevor Nichols is Alive!).

Transcription of above linked reel (brief interview with Erin Nichols, Trevor's Mom):
"Uhm, a miracle, after six and a half years we have news that Trevor as of 16 or 18 months ago is actually alive. He had a sighting in San Diego. Uhm, this was in November of 2022. Uhm, he was living in a homeless community and he was charging his cell phone and had an interaction with the police in November 2022 in San Diego. Specifically was located on the Balboa Park Bridge of the Alfredo Bridge. I have to put out kudos to you because the CID investigator said that it was through your page and your postings that she came across Trevor's case and decided to do the soft search that, that when she discovered this, this encounter. If Trevor sees this, I just want him to know we love him. We don't care what he's going through. We can work through it and you know, we talked to the CID. They said that discharge is a simple procedure these days. It's not like he's facing major jail time or anything and we just need him to know that, that he can stop running. You know, turn yourself in. Let's get this discharge done and then, if you want to stay in California, so be it but at least you don't have to keep running. You can have contact with us and we love you and we miss you."

It's really exciting to see this pan out in a more positive light than we often get to see! We now know that as of November 2022, Trevor is alive. I hope that he will make contact with his family, if he so desires.
