GUILTY NY - Twenty dead in Limo Crash, Schoharie County, 6 Oct 2018 *arrest* #2

The judge sentenced Hussain to 5-15 years, for each of the 20 counts to run concurrently.
But what does that mean in terms of actual time he has to serve? There's a huge difference between 5 and 15? The judge didn't pick a number?

My understanding is he must serve the minimum of 5 years. If he behaves while in prison, he can then go before the parole board and they will decide whether he will be released. Perhaps somebody else can give us information about how it works in NY state. JMO
