UC ALERT: Utica College is currently under a lock down due to a real, credible threat. Everyone on campus is to remain sheltered in place. Please get to a safe place and remain there until you are told the shelter in place direction has been lifted.

While Utica in New York is facing this threat, a California college was also threatened today. The California perp is in custody, classes will resume this afternoon.

"Cypress College officials said a former student has been taken into custody after a credible threat of 'possible violence' was made against the school."

"Law enforcement are continuing to evacuate campus buildings. We will notify
campus when this process is complete. Continue to shelter in place and comply
with all police instructions."

Still on lockdown. All buildings have been searched and will be searched again.

"Within the next half hour, faculty, staff, and non-residential students will be
systematically released from campus. Remain where you are until you receive
instruction from law enforcement. Residential students will be escorted back to
their residence halls by law enforcement, and must remain there until the
lockdown has been lifted."

Pres. Casamento: I am pleased & relieved to announce that an arrest has been made in threat against UC. According to UPD, a UC student has been arrested and charged in the case. I'm sure that more details will be forthcoming, but will be released by the Utica Police Dept.
