Now I’m a little unorthodox in my investigative method. I am more inclined to look at the things that are not there. Now what is odd to me is that she went missing Tuesday used her bank card in Manhattan on Thursday and was found dead 5 days later. My immediate question is all taboo robbery gone bad motives aside exactly when was she put in the suitcase? Secondly how did the killer transport her into the woods

She was seen at the ATM in mid-town Manhattan. Google her name in Google News and sort by most recent. Also Google Greenwich CT and sort by most recent. Latest is that the foresincs will take up to 8 weeks before made public.

I wonder if the BF was into criminal activity and he felt she knew too much and she broke up with him to get away from it. Is there more info on the boyfriend? It might not be him that killed her but an associate of his. She was kept somewhere for a time or she wouldn't be tied up. Poor girl. That really makes me think that there was a personal aspect to this. It seems strange to me that someone would be on a dating site so soon after a breakup. Maybe she knew that it would be dangerous to break up with this guy and that was why she worried plus maybe a few hints of what was to happen that we are not aware of yet. Just speculation.

Oh God, please no! I agree, it's very possibl but if so, let's pray Valerie's death is his last because they finally catch him. She can't have died in vain.

Does anyone know when they figured out her sheets were missing? I don’t want to assume it was day 1 when no one could reach her. It may not have happened until after the ATM sighting. When did the cops or family actually discover this? It would be odd if the sheets went missing while she was still alive.

The boyfriend has posted about her disappearance on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Use the obvious hashtags and you will find him. Both live not far from the Hutchinson Parkway (NY) which turns into the Merritt Parkway (CT). Each are from different towns. The area where she was discovered is 1.5 miles from this road and also is very much bordered by NY State. The adjacent town has a large Hispanic population. A very recent article today stated that she was last seen at the Greenwich CT train station, not New Rochelle NY. This has become very confusing. Not sure who the sources are, bht the police are saying nothing. I assume they are working on solidifying their case and know exactly who did this.

It's possible Reyes could be the latest victim of LISK (Long Island Serial Killer). LISK has been known to roam the Times Square area in relation to his victims, usually afterward by using their cell phones that get pinged in that location. Reyes could have been taken or lured there before her death. And if you look at the map, Greenwich, CT is just north of Long Island and where his victims were found at Gilgo Beach (red marker). And from what Reye's mother stated about her daughters paranoia, it's very similar to that of possible LISK victim, Shannon Gilbert. And . . . similar to another possible LISK victim: an unidentified female that was found in a suitcase, who is referred to as "Peaches" from a peach tattoo discovered on her body.

So going by this time line- the conversation with her Mom was on the 28th of January, (according to the article @cybervampira posted above this), to which Valerie told her Mom she thought she was going to be murdered. Reading this timeline- it says on January 28th was the day she took her personal items with her along with her sheets?

Next day, she doesn't show up at something she planned with her Mom, and no one had heard from her since she left on the 28th of January. She was reported missing on the 30th of January.

where ATM surveillance cameras captured her image around 2 a.m. Reyes' bank card also was used that morning in the city at a different ATM, though it's unclear if she or someone else used the card, Sanchez said.

So it appears that Valerie was alone at the bank at 2 AM? I wonder if she withdrew money then- it isn't very clear if she did then, but later on, it was mentioned that her card was used later on that morning, but they don't know if she used it herself or if someone else did.

So, technically, the last time Valerie was seen alive was at 2 AM on the 31st of January. There has to be more video of her out there somewhere, in my opinion. So, what was she doing from when she left on the 28th of January until 2 AM on the 31st- wandering the streets? I would imagine if she had gone to a hotel room, LE would have that information on her bank card. Where did she go, where did she sleep, before she was murdered? Did her phone ping anywhere that would give them an idea as to where she was during that time period? She had to get something to eat or drink, I would imagine, for those two days. Did she stop at any convenient stores or gas stations or restaurants for food? She could have paid cash for those items, but she might be on video somewhere. Also, not to be graphic, but she would have had to use the ladies room somewhere for those two days.

I am just baffled at the time she left her apartment until she was last seen on that surveillance tape- she was alive at least for two days before she was murdered. Who did she know in Manhattan? What brought her there for two days?

Event Two could be related or not. Either someone she has involved in her disappearance turns on her, or someone completely unrelated to Event One, someone she does not know, happens upon her (or has been stalking her) during Event One and creates Event Two - her death.

She is stalked, forced out of her apartment with some of her belongings to make it look like she is leaving of her own accord, possibly is raped, which is why sheet/dna evidence is removed, and taken to be kept for some time, at least until they can drain her bank account? I'm wondering if the person who found her body and took the pictures was taking the pictures to show to police? Or was he or she just some sicko taking pictures to send to his or her friends to show them what they had found? My first instinct would be to run if I found a dead body. No way I would even think to stop and start taking pictures, not even for LE.

Nor would I. His name has beem made public and it appears to be a serious error in judgement. I do not believe he is connected to her murder. It was freezing cold in NY/CT last week and then there were a few days of unseasonably warm weather. So, the DPW were out on the warm days. This road is not as quiet as it is being presented to be.

I do not know the answer to this question, but his social media persona displays a normal, intelligent, hard working young man. He is from Yonkers NY, which is a crime ridden area, as is New Rochelle NY. So, it is difficult to say who influenced him. I do not want to insinuate that he committed this crime because I do not know.

I haven't kept up with this case, but is there any reason for her mental health to be more important than her name?

The boyfriend she broke up with 5 days before her disapperance posted about mental health issues in a general manner after her disappearance (and acknowledging her disappearance.) My belief is this information was “put out there” to create a perception of Valerie being mentally unstable.

What I meant to say is that the sheets were obviously not used to conceal her body (or thrown out because of any blood evidence on them), as she was still alive afterwards.

We don’t know that she took the sheets. We don’t know if she was alone or not when the items were removed.

He can be easily found on the 3 major social media platforms. Please remember that we do not know who committed this crime. She lived very close to a registered sex offender (First Degree Rape), she lived in the basement apartment of a low income, multi family rental home, and she lived in a city with a large gang population. I suggest that if you find her ex-boyfriend’s accounts that you do not comment on his posts as he has not been publicly charged with this crime.

I don't plan to comment. I just want to do some digging. I am aware no one has been charged. But...she breaks up with the boyfriend and is missing a few days later, then found dead? Seems a bit shady. I am not sure how I'd find him on social media without a name...
