NY - Westerley Osson, 26, found strangled in duffel bag, Far Rockaway, 30 March 2015

A black duffel bag containing apparent human remains was found in Queens. Cops made the grisly discovery on Gipson St. near Motts Basin in Far Rockaway.

Two feet with white socks and blue jeans could be seen poking out of the bag. Police think the bag was dumped on the shore and it did not wash up from the water.

Authorities have identified the human remains found in a black duffel bag near the shoreline in Queens several months ago as 26-year-old Westerley Osson.The remains of Osson, whose last address wasn't known, were found in the bag on Gipson Street in Far Rockaway March 30.

It's not clear how long the bag had been there, but police previously said they thought it was brought there from another location.

Westerley Osson's death is being investigated as a homicide.
