I noticed that his namus page went back up too. I guess his case wasn’t resolved then.

If he was in the East River for a few weeks, maybe the paper in the pocket ELERIST 308...was water soaked and the ink was smudged..so it may look like elerist, but its really another word.
Street name ?
Hotel ?

Could ELERIST be ELDRIDGE?
There is a. ..Eldridge block 308
about a 25 min drive from the East River.
Seems like a popular area...

There is also a Route 308 in NY
Was there a little town, street name, or motel from around 1976 with a name similar to ELERIST?

I could definitely see a misspelling on the paper. There is:

308 Ellery St, Brentwood, NY and 308 Ellis St, Burlington, NJ.

308 Elleri St?

I really wish we could see a photo of the “ELERIST 308”. I do not think this is an address. If you were to write down someone’s address, the number would be in front ie “I live at 123 Main St.” This doe was estimated to have been in the water for weeks, and in 1976 NYC had over 1500 homicides. Between an overwhelmed police force, and possible misspelling/bleeding of ink could this “ELERIST 308” possibly be “EUCHERIST 308” ? I personally had to look up the proper spelling of Eucharist, it’s probably misspelled often (a faded U or C could easily be misread as an L) A religious medallion was found on the body.

I have a feeling this address was where he was trying to get to. It was important enough for him to write it down. Since he was found in the river, I would not be surprised if the paper got wet and the ink ran..smudging the actual address.
