Court documents: Ethan Kollie purchased body armor, the upper receiver of the AR-15 weapon, and the 100-round double drum magazine for the Dayton shooter. He helped the him assemble the gun. He also stored it in his Kettering apartment to hide it from the shooter's parents.

Possible prison up to 15 years. This Wednesday will be his detention hearing.

No evidence he conspired with CB
How could he not know or suspect what CB was going to do?

It's hinky to me that there is no reason CB would not have been able to purchase--he did not need Kollie to do it.

My thoughts exactly. He was hiding the items from his parents, that's my suspicion as to the "why". I wonder if he was planning this particular attack that far back or was just getting gear together for the day he would finally decide to lose it. :(

I get the storing it part to hide from parents, but not the purchasing part. Hinky.

Doesn't seem very relevant. The son was panicked, trying to avoid getting shot himself. A lot of people get things wrong in that kind of situation. He could have also seen blood on his father's head from more minor wounds from bullet fragments, flying glass or hitting his head on the pavement, etc. Those injuries would be listed in an autopsy report, but would not show as the cause of death. Recall, the news reports are based on preliminary AR's (not very detailed) and reporters only reported the wounds that caused the death of the victim.

Why is this a concern?
It was just a statement. The son provided very detailed statements that were very different than the report. I meant nothing other than it was different.

I wonder when Betts retrieved the gear from Kollie...was it that night when he left for a bit. If so did Kollie know what he was going to do,?

DBM - misquoted from source. Apologies.

Where’s the MSM link. Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me.

I'm in the midst of painting, but will be happy to put together a little tutorial for you this evening. Some of this is based on my own personal experience, but there's a lot of good information out there about peaceful protest and the history of agents provocateur.

Rolling Stone did a series on it back in 2012

How FBI Entrapment Is Inventing 'Terrorists' - and Letting Bad Guys Off the Hook

The Plot Against Occupy

Protestors at anti-KKK rally - none dressed in black with faces covered. Protestors in red shirts are usually members of DSA - Democratic Socialists of America - a peaceful group.

Interesting, police arresting a gun owner for having a controlled substance. Does this happen often? One would assume it does as smoking MJ is becoming more common.

From PC

FBI spoke to him Aug 4 and Kollie indicated he had purchased body armor and a gun accessory for CB. Agents smelled pot and saw a pistol. On Aug 8 they spoke to him and said he had done hard drugs and acid with CB in 2014/2015 and he smoked pot every day for 10 years.

The purchase form for the pistol said he did not do any drugs. He also grows mushrooms in his home (that's a thing?)

How did the FBI know that he smoked pot every day for 10 yrs? That seems oddly specific. Probably best to stay away from guns.

In the PC I just listened to, with the southern Ohio USA, he said they did not believe that Kollie knew what Betts was planning.

Betts retrieved it 6-8 weeks ago which makes no sense re: the story that Betts didn't want his parents to find it. Hinky.

Unless CB couldn't purchase for reasons of prohibition under federal law (though EK didn't seem to have a problem falsifying).

I think this is a case of where the guy didn't get a lawyer fast enough and blabbed his mouth. He told LE that he did acid with CB on an almost daily basis. He also admitted to smoking marijuana daily. This is all his admission. And this is why he is arrested and facing 15 years in prison because he admitted to using illegal drugs regularly after checking off on the gun forms that he was not addicted to any controlled substances. He is not being held for involvement in the Dayton shooting. The drum and the gear were legal. Why he would buy them for CB I do not know. I don't find it that odd that he held his weapons at his home as CB probably just told him that his parents were anti-gun. And since this guy helped CB modify this AR-15 like pistol, he was probably the one that built it and it was probably something they did as friends together hanging out, probably while also doing drugs which is terrifying and stupid. It's probably setting an example for others. Don't hold on to your buddies weapons and don't buy them gear, you never know if they'll end up turning up a mass shooter and you'll be held partially responsible even if you had no idea. It would be really interesting to know what kinds of things CB said to him since he dropped hints to other friends about shooting up bars and how much damage he could do. Reports are saying there are no signs that this guy knew what CB had planned.

No, they specifically said CB would have been able to purchase.

Anyways, after looking over this guys SM, he looks like a decent guy on the surface. I'm sure thousands/millions of people lie on that form and say they don't do drugs.
