Investigators have not released the identities of the man and woman found dead just after 9:30 a.m. at Friendly Village Mobile Home Park in Perrysburg Township. More information will be released later Monday, police said.

Police have not said how the man and woman died, but did confirm they are relatives.

Delamotte, who joined cleveland.com two years ago, was reported missing Monday after she planned a Sunday visit with a relative at the mobile home park.

Mother of cleveland.com reporter: 'no one should have ever hurt her'
A Toledo mother said her daughter, a journalist for cleveland.com, did not deserve to be hurt after police discovered two bodies at a Perrysburg Township mobile home park.

“She’s beautiful and no one should have ever hurt her. And that’s all I’m going to say,” Jo Anne Ullman told The Blade.

Ms. Ullman identified herself as the mother of Nikki Delamotte, 30, who is listed as the arts and culture reporter at cleveland.com, according to her Facebook page.

We are so very sad to hear of the passing of Cleveland.com writer @nikkidelamotte. She was a bright, funny, engaging journalist and supporter of Cleveland culture and arts. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and colleagues.

Such a tragedy. She was a very bright, talented young woman with a great future. She had many friends who are understandably distraught. Some of the news coverage is confusing. I get the feeling there is more information they aren't releasing at this time. Since Ohio BCI is in charge of the investigation and she worked for the Plain Dealer/Cleveland.com, its unlikely much info will be released to the public.

How sad that she was put in a dangerous situation while trying to reconnect with her father's family.

are we thinking murder suicide here?

What are the odds? She happens to reconnect with her uncle the minute someone decides to invade his mobile home and kill everyone inside? Don’t think so.

So awful. I was "hoping" it was something like a malfunctioning space heater leading to carbon monoxide poisoning or some other sort of tragic accident. This is just . . . .

What are the logistics of the crime? This quote is confusing:

"Ullman [the mother] drove to the mobile home and found her daughter’s car parked outside — with her cellphone and wallet inside, she told the paper."

Were the phone and wallet inside the car or inside the trailer?

https://nypost.com/2018/11/13/popular-cleveland-reporter-shot-dead-in-mobile-home/
This answers it:
Ullman, who said her daughter did not return a text message sent at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, called police to report her daughter missing. She said she arrived at the trailer park before police. Once officers arrived, they were able to get inside the trailer, she said.

They emerged moments later and told Ullman to back up, she said.

“I’m sorry to tell you they’re both dead and they both had gunshot wounds,” an officer told Ullman, she told cleveland.com.

Detectives took a statement from Ullman, who said she saw her daughter’s car parked outside the trailer, with her cellphone and wallet inside it.

Nikki Delamotte, 1988-2018, a journalist with heart: editorial

Nikki Delamotte was the new friend you'd known forever. She was that warm, that giving, that caring - and that much fun to be around. Her skills as a journalist, as a crafter of words and images, as a published author and arts and culture reporter who knew Cleveland's byways as if she were born here (she moved from the Toledo area a decade or so ago to attend Cleveland State University) had a timeless quality that belied her age -- just 30 at the time of her tragic apparent murder Sunday night.

And how could anyone kill someone so good, so kind, who uplifted all of us through her writing and celebrated all that was good, quirky and delicious about Cleveland? Nikki, so humble about her personal gifts, specialized in uncovering hidden gems and those less-well-known people we found we all wanted to know. She loved cats, and dogs, stuffed animals and humankind in almost equal measure, and deeply loved her family, including her recently deceased, adored grandmother. She sought to lift spirits and build bridges and celebrate life with every story and tweet and video and photograph she ever published. Which were many. Her Twitter page had more than 4,000 followers at her death.

Our newsroom is deeply shocked and grief-stricken at our colleague's untimely passing. But our editorial board also wanted to expand the lens beyond our broken hearts to remember what made Nikki so amazing and so special.

Robert James Delamotte: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

So tragic. Murder-suicide was my first thought. Wonder if a gun was found near or under the uncle's body?

The article is just as much about Nikki as it is about her uncle. Most articles only state it's a homicide investigation, but then they note that Rbt Delamotte doesn't have a criminal record, which seems to suggest he was the shooter.

But, there are other possibilities. There was a quote in the Heavy article that struck me as odd. I'm curious if anyone else will think so.

I'm not sure what quote struck you as odd, but this is one from the link that points to who did what to whom, imo:

"Nikki had been shot multiple times. Robert died from a single gunshot. No other details were released."

I live in Cleveland and Nikki Delamotte really was well known and well loved in the Art/music/food/independent business scene around town-it’s all so tragic. I think it was a murder suicide ,but with both parties deceased how can we ever know what happened?

I‘m sure forensic evidence will show what happened.
