Shooter came to venue with sister and companion!!!!!!!!

Person with sister with sister was wounded only. He was a companion of the suspect.

He came in the same car as his sister...I wonder if she knew he had a gun? Or if they were fighting?

Shooter had a shotgun and an AR15. Shotgun was left in vehicle.

Sister was an initial victim. Her companion was shot and wounded.

So, why did he shoot his sister and everyone else?

[SARCASM] Oh, maybe because they disagreed on a social issue. Maybe they were arguing repeatedly on topics. Maybe he saw too many SM postings that teed him off. Maybe he had a series of "bad" days. Just like the rest of us. [/SARCASM]

Seems like the least little disruption in someone's life entitles them to shoot up anyone these days.

Shooter and sister seperated at some point during the evening so they are not sure what he did during that time or if sister and companion knew about his plan, guns, or vest

They're showing some CCtv videos of the crime. One shows a police officer coming to the restaurant area, ducks behind the wall as the killer is shooting. Killer then runs to that end of the building and right around the corner to where the officer was standing. Officer just shot him as he was running towards him.

Didn't look like the killer realized there was an officer there. JMO, it looked like the killer was chasing people who were trying to run away. My impression was that he was pursuing people to keep killing them.

Early into the investigation. No suggestion of motive at this time. Don't have enough info yet. Will pursue to try to understand. A lot of evidence to process. Recovered a lot.

No info that someone tried to grab the killer's gun. His gun was only taken away after he was down, by a security guard.

Sister and another male who was a companion of the suspect were there. Sister was shot, male friend was wounded.

More than one gun. The one he used was ordered online from Texas and acquired from a local dealer. Weapon originated in Texas. Same with a shotgun that wasn't used.

Magazine he used was not illegal.

No evidence at this time it was a hate crime. Dozens of rounds were fired by the killer.

Police chief was glad the department had purchased rifles and shotguns for patrolmen to use there. It made a difference WRT encountering a shooter with a BPV

Was with sister when they came to the area. They separated and went to different places until he shot them

They do not know what time they arrived together at this time

No information on whether shooter targeted sister or her companion at this time.

No evidence that shooter knew any other victims.

1 of the other 27 victims are listed in critical condition.

Shooting was ended in 30 seconds.

Had this shooter made it through doorway, chief states there would have been catastrophic loss of life. Everyone from outside had ran inside the bar making there more people inside.

Weapons obtained legally.

One reporter called the companion the shooters friend and chief did not correct him.

Companion was wounded but not so severe that were not able to have a conversation with him.

Yes, my impression is that someone grabbed the barrel of the gun as he tried to come into the bar. That's when he was shot by police. There were a lot of civilian heroes last night as well. In addition to the one who grabbed his gun there were people doing CPR, trying to stop bleeding, transporting people to hospitals...

I believe LE just denied that in the press conference.

Officers trained in mannerisms that people have when carrying a weapon. However this shooters weapon was visible. Officers well trained.

Shooter modified the gun. Can't give specifics at this time. Was not sold in this state. AR15 "like" gun.

Shooter was not at all on law enforcement radar.

Came in vehicle registered to shooters father.

Dayton has had multiple causality shootings but no mass shootings

This probably isn't allowed but I have to say it. Assault weapons have to be banned.

I don't know why that can't be said. After all these events wouldn't happen if people couldn't get ahold of them.

I want to know why this guy targeted his sister.

Can not say if weapons were in care or if shooter was geared up the whole night or if he did it when he left his sister and companion.
