This trial should be interesting to follow. Based on news reports of the initial investigation, there seems to have been at least one co-conspirator involved in Aliza's murder. Prosecutors haven't said much about that lately. Her family should make sure her murder is fully investigated. So relieved they're finally seeing some justice for their mother. JMO

Very surprising considering he was tipped off to his original arrest and had already escaped to Texas, probably on his way to Mexico or elsewhere. One would think he would be denied because he's a flight risk.
This is the most bizarre murder case. Who is the judge who granted bail? Who is funding it?

It sounds as if he was ripping her off over the divorce proceedings and didn't want to be exposed.
The fact that he had charges for making false bomb threats to delay other trials suggests he was no stranger to dodgy dealings.
There's also the ex husband who died in 2023. He sounded like a real piece of work, abusive, hiding money in offshore accounts, police called to the address multiple times when they were living together. He lawyered up immediately and refused to even talk to police after his wife's death.

According to the indictment, Moore was unprepared for the divorce trial scheduled for March 25, 2013 (The day after the murder). Rather than representing her or withdrawing, he allegedly plotted to make her unavailable to attend—either through serious harm or death.
“Clearly, blood on the victim from a third-party male found on the person of the decedent at the time of the homicide is critical, material and incredibly exculpatory evidence,” the motion states. “Mr. Moore hereby respectfully requests this Court to allow for an independent test by the Defense of item 25.2, ‘Swab from interior of watch band (e-cells),’ as well as the watch itself worn by the decedent Aliza Sherman. It is known through evidence review that Dr. Butt of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office advised that blood DNA was recovered from the watch collected at the crime scene, and further, “that it was a mixture of the victim’s blood and an unknown male.” Importantly, the unidentified blood was tested against a sample of DNA from Gregory Moore and Gregory Moore was found to be “excluded as contributor[] to the DNA mixture from item 25.2 and 27.1 (swab of knife handle).

If the evidence was blood from a third party male, then its worth looking into. It's already been implied by LE that someone else was involved in the murder. That doesn't necessarily exculpate Moore for being involved in helping plan or set it up.
It's important to focus on who would benefit from Aliza's murder. There was certainly at least one other person who stood to benefit financially from her demise. No Alize, no divorce settlement, no alimony, etc.
Gregory Moore is currently out on a $2 million bond.

Another hearing was scheduled today for lawyers to discuss further DNA testing of the victim’s watch, but the hearing was continued. No new date was set, but it will probably be announced soon. From news reports at the link, it’s expected the trial will take place sometime next year.
