Daniel T. Baker, 44, of Jackson; Zebulon D. Logan, 45, of Lucasville; and Dan Baker, 75, of West Portsmouth, were killed in the crash, the state highway patrol said.

The sheriff’s office said it was alerted to a fire near the airport and when the Jackson Fire Department arrived, firefighters discovered the plane burning just off of Barton Road. As firefighters extinguished the fire, EMS responders identified three people inside the plane.

According to the sheriff’s office, family members of the victims said the men were flying to Florida to pick up a car Logan bought.
