Body found wrapped in plastic Tuscarawas County Ohio

Amber Sherrell, 38, was identified as the woman whose body was found wrapped in plastic on White Bridge Rd.

Just after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to White Bridge Road, off of state Route 416 and the base of Seven-mile Drive, for a body that was lying along the roadway.

The caller told dispatchers he had just left to go to work and noticed the body, which was partially wrapped in plastic.

Sherrell, a 38-year-old Mineral City resident, was also remembered as a well-known and talented artist and hairstylist who helped countless people feel their best.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell said Sherrell was identified through fingerprints.

Her cause of death has not yet been released, but Sheriff Campbell said foul play is suspected.

While we still do not have an exact cause of death as of yet, the physical portion of the autopsy ordered by Tuscarawas County Coroner Jeff Cameron and performed by the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office did yield information that was vitally important to the investigation. Toxicology and other testing will be needed before a cause of death will be able to be named.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, investigators did execute a Search warrant at a home in Dover, Ohio. No one was home at the time of the search warrant’s execution, but a significant amount of evidence was collected. The nature of the evidence cannot be disclosed at this time but I believe this evidence will prove to be crucial when prosecution occurs. DNA and other types of testing have been requested from the State Crime lab.

While the information above is intentionally vague, it is important that we hold back what we know at this stage of the investigation until we question those we want to talk to. We believe we have a duty to release information to the public, but only correct information. It will take more time to get the results of all testing.
