Found Deceased OH - Amy Begeot, 33, Boardman, 24 Oct 2018

33-year-old Amy Begeot was released from the Mahoning County jail on October 24. She went to see her children at an address in Boardman and hasn't been seen since.

A family member said she received a text message from Begeot saying that she was in "some woods" in Boardman, near an apartment complex in the South Avenue/Mathews Road area.

She has a really lengthy arrest record for someone in her early 30's. (www.searchquarry.com). 11 different charges, disorderly conduct, theft, burglary, domestic violence (BY her, not TO her), and drugs which sets up a pattern of behavior that is troubling. I'm afraid either OD or died from exposure while outside while high, violence by a partner in crime who was afraid she was released from jail by giving up information on other POI's. I hope her children are in a stable environment.

According to the lockup list she had been in jail for almost four months. If she was on drugs, would 4 months be enough to do damage if she'd take a usual dose after getting out? As in, she wasn't used to it anymore and the 'usual dose' was too much? I feel bad for her... if she contacted someone to say she was in some woods, she may have been disoriented and trying to find her way out, but couldn't and succumbed to the elements. Although idk where the person of interest would fit in, in that case. Maybe she fled them...

Yes. For many recently relapsed addicts, overdose is an all too frequent occurrence. Having gotten some time off of using, their tolerance to drugs and alcohol is decreased while their cravings remain the same. There is a great danger as they have no tolerance and they also have poor judgment in how much they should be using.

When you’re actively using opiates, the addict can adapt to the exposure, allowing them to use more or in greater concentration without the respiratory system failing. But when people get sober, the receptors in their brain and the chemical mechanisms which process the drug become more sensitive, and the reaction to the opiate becomes more pronounced.

It’s all about the mechanics of how much you use. This isn’t as much of an issue with alcohol or drugs like cocaine or methamphetamine, which can kill you, but aren’t going to stop your respiratory system as straightforwardly as opiates. With heroin or other opiates, if you’re used to using a certain amount, you might not recognize the consequences coming right back into the drug.

Amy is my sister, yes she has a past but that shouldn’t matter now before going to jail this time around she was clean for 7 months and she was PROUD she went to meetings and she did what she had to do to stay clean and that was her plans after getting out and I have it in writing from her specifically that she was trying to better her life for her kids and to get her kids back she wouldn’t have gone out to mess her life up again. I’m tired of seeing people bring her past up like she is a bad person or she’s out getting high. No that’s not the case my sister just vanished out of nowhere she would not go this long without contacting someone especially her kids.

Coroner identifies body found in trash can in Youngstown

"The Mahoning County Coroner's Office has identified the body found in a trash can in Youngstown as that of a woman missing since October.

The coroner said the body belongs to 33-year-old Amy Begeot. She was identified by her multiple tattoos.

Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, the landlord of a home in the 1700 block of Gladstone St. found her in a trash can in the back yard. "
