Only an opinion, perpetrator possibly is still around and in their mid-60s, early 70s??? moo
Nonetheless, can't wait for the family to get answers.

There's been a list of suspects for many years, I think. They've just never had enough evidence for an arrest. It's someone who had connections to both the Bay Village area and the area where her body was found. Her body was not very decomposed when found and witnesses who traveled by the spot regularly said it wasn't put there until recently.Only an opinion, perpetrator possibly is still around and in their mid-60s, early 70s??? moo

If there’s evidence (particularly DNA) involved, then that’s better than not knowing. Even if justice can’t be delivered to the perpetrator(s), I can only imagine the existential terror for the family and anyone who knew them of not knowing who was responsible.
Just imo.
This is real interesting. The identity of this guy should be made available shortly since he has been arrested for this recent crime. Dozens; if not hundreds, of men have found themselves in Law Enforcement radar for the Mihaljevic case. Many were known sex offenders so that, in itself doesn’t mean much.Oct 18, 2024 12:30 PM
NORWALK — A Huron County man arrested earlier this year after a bizarre incident in which he allegedly assaulted a much younger woman was a suspect in one of Ohio's most infamous unsolved homicides, according to persons familiar with both cases.
Detective Jay Elish on Wednesday declined to say if the man was ever a suspect, but police continue to investigate leads in the case.
"That's not something I would comment on," Elish said when asked about it. "We have literally talked with thousands of people in the case. I can't speak to it."
The detective, when asked specifically about the Huron County man and provided his name, seemed to be aware of who the man is, using a nickname for him instead of the full name that was provided.
"(Nick name?)," he responded. "We have had a lot of people we talked to in this case."
Elish said he was not previously aware that the man had been arrested in Huron County. He also said police have not interviewed the man since he was arrested by sheriff's deputies.

There is “touch DNA” from Amy’s clothing that also itself doesn’t mean much. It could have gotten there from very casual contact such as having passed on the sidewalk. Nonetheless, it would be evidence that they had been in close proximity. Along with other evidence, this could be significant.
Yes, saw this recently. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.@billhuffman3
Very interesting...be intrigued to see if this has any connection with the report of new DNA. However, as we know, they interviewed many people, so I like the "take it with a grain of salt" approach. @TCGNIC was on earlier to talk about the new evidence https://tinyurl.com/nhhxw56d
Another more recent article about the hairs recently found on a curtain and blanket...[full article linked]

There is more evidence detectives believe will help solve the case. Elish said there were several hairs recently found on a curtain and blanket they believe Amy was wrapped in when she was found in Ashland County.
“Those hairs are now currently with the FBI at their lab,” Elish said. “The next step will be going to one of these advanced testing sites that we utilize in California. Hopefully, we can get some DNA profiles off that.”
Thank you for posting this link. Very interesting to see this process in action, especially the DNA being filtered and separated from the solution. This step is much less complicated than I imagined.BREAKING: New test on old evidence could reveal Amy Mihaljevic’s killer
