Teen accidentally kills his friend after pranking him by moving his car outside a bowling alley | Daily Mail Online
An Ohio teenager has been killed after allegedly being knocked down by his friend who had moved their car to trick him.
Police responded to the parking lot of Wickliffe Lanes Bowling Alley, Euclid Avenue, to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car on Saturday.
Police said that Wickliffe High School Senior Anthony Noch, 17, was leaving the bowling alley with his two friends when he was struck by a car driven by his friend Gary Reba, 18, from Willowick.
The incident happened during 'horseplay' between friends, according to a news release posted by Wickliffe Police Department on Facebook.
Reba and a second man left the bowling alley before Noch, who was finishing up paying inside the alley.
Police said Reba moved the car from its original parking spot, so that Noch would come outside and have to search for his car.
Reba allegedly drove towards Noch to startle him as Noch was looking for the vehicle.
Reba then struck Noch with the front driver’s side corner of his car. As a result he fell to the ground and suffered a serious head injury.
He was subsequently taken to Lake West Hospital and was then transferred to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
But Noch died on Sunday morning, according to the statement.
Reba was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated vehicular homicide, according to the release. He is set to appear in court on March 13.
