OH OH - ANTHONY SOWELL, 11 bodies unearthed at his Cleveland home, 2007-09 *dies in prison 2021*

This man has lived all over and no doubt travelled and murdered many females in his life.
he seems to have really gone on a killing spree, once he saw how easy it was to get a victim he just got bolder didn't he?
On the news on CNN I see where neighbors blamed the smell on the sausage plant next door, then on a sewerage line ...
and when they walked by and turned the corner some could not breath.
How did he??Live with this??:waitasec:

I hate to say this but, ya know how if you get new perfume and at first you hardly spray any on, as time goes by we become accustomed to it until we go to work one day and someone is like Geez, did you dip yourself in that perfume??? Same thing here, except it's the smell of decomposing bodies.

That is nasty and darkly funny all at the same time.

Wow. Just wow. This is absolutely turning out to be a true house of horrors. Reminds me of this case too:

Kendall Francois preyed on women that were on the fringes of society as well. Made it that much easier for him.

Investigation ongoing but things remain quiet today at Anthony Sowell's home

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Crews have not begun working again at Anthony Sowell's home on Imperial Avenue, where police have discovered 10 bodies and a skull in the past week.

Police said Tuesday that work crews and the fire department would return to the home today to continue looking for bodies and take apart the house if necessary, but that has yet to happen.

Police cars are parked at the house, which is surrounded by media from across the world and crowds of people from the neighborhood.

Several ministers met with Police Chief Michael McGrath this morning, letting him know that the city's religious community stands ready to help families of victims as they are identified.

"We want the families to know that the church is willing to help any way we can, even if it comes to burying the ladies," said Clarence Byrd of Covenant Community Church.

Do we know where he was prior to 1989? Where was he during the 1980's? Was he still in the Marines then? He could have just committed rape back then and then after he was caught he decided he would have to kill all of his victims to silence them. OR he could have been killing women long before he went to prison in 1989. It would be interesting to find out where exactly he was through-out the 80's and see how any women disappeared in the areas he lived.

This guy reminds me of Maury Travis from St. Louis. I wonder if this guy photographed or videotaped any of the murders? He seems like the type for memorializing.

Someone posted earlier he joined the marines when he was 18, 1978 to 1986. During that time he was in North Carolina, Okinawa, and Coronado, Ca.

I do believe he started this type of behavior from the get go, which is why I posted some unsolved cases from when he could POSSIBLY have been involved.

If I read correctly, police wouldn't take a MP report for her. I do hope the police end up with a serious revamping of their guidelines.

Shameful conduct, they should hang their heads low, the comments the police made about this woman- shameful.

RIP.

That is terrible. I am so heartbroken for these families. The pictures of Tonia in the video in the link above show her with her family, happy. She was loved by them. From the pictures, I can see that she was a beautiful young woman who, unfortunately, fell into a bad lifestyle. I can't believe the police would treat a member of their community this way. Just because they had preconceptions about the type of person Tonia was, you can clearly see that her mother and daughter are not victims of the same lifestyle. How could police cast a loving and concerned family aside like is alleged here? It seems the police overlooked the fact that the family of a missing person are also victims. They focused on their opinions of a missing person as an addict and failed to show the family the respect and concern they deserve! Shame on them! Whether or not they felt Tonia deserved immediate attention because of her supposed lifestyle choice, her family shouldn't have had to suffer because of it. They deserved immediate attention and not jokes about their missing loved one.

If it is true, that Tonia has been identified as one of the victims, may she RIP. May her family and friends finally find some peace.

According to AP this am, they're thinking it's up to eleven. They're not sure a skull found in a bucket in the basement belongs to someone they already found, or if it is the only thing left of another victim..It truly sounds like all this non human did was eat, look for scrap metal, and murder. Good Lord..
The link also includes that police are now going to start tearing down the walls of the home...

after watching this... I am just SHOCKED and ashamed to be a native Ohioan! The lengths that this woman went thru to just report her daughter missing... you can bet LE did nothing.

Now the whole "understanding their lifestyles" thing that LE said at the presser yesterday makes me even more disgusted! Yes, DISGUSTED!

I forgot to add that if more than one person is involved, that's a different thing. It's not totally impossible that he acted with others. Scary, but a "gang" or "ring" of serial killers is not completely out of the realm of possibility. I pray it's not the case, but in this strange world, you never know...

The article you linked is a very interesting one in that the similarites to AS' MO are dead on. I'm not saying that strangulation was the ONLY way he murdered, but it certainly seemed to be his preference, so far.

Cleveland LE sure have a lot of explaining to do. Heads should roll on this one, hopefully. How can you ignore anyone's missing report just because of their social standing. How can you turn down the founder of the FBI's BAU department for help? What the HE77 were they thinking?

If anyone can update on the coroners conference, those of us at work would be much obliged! :)

If they wouldn't take the report from this family, I'm sure there are more who experienced the same situation.

I wonder if they HAD taken the reports, if they might have noticed an abnormally high number of missing women. When you consider they found one victim's car just blocks away from this monster's "home"- you have to wonder if they might have looked a little closer at SO in the area, if they had noticed a cluster of missing women.

It doesn't cost the police a single dime to file the report- except time, and the time they spent badmouthing this lady would have been probably about the same time it would have taken to file the report.
:furious::furious:

EVERYONE IN OHIO SHOULD BE UP IN ARMS!!!!!! REMEMBER, THE POLICE ARE PAID WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS!!!! IT IS THEIR JOB TO TAKE THE REPORT!!!!
